The city was in turmoil as the conflict between the clones and the government escalated. Rine could see the tension and anger on the faces of her fellow clones, and she knew that they were ready to fight for their rights. But as she looked at the frightened faces of the human population, she realized that violence and aggression would not be the solution to their problems.
"We need to find a different way," Rine thought to herself. "We need to bridge the divide between the clones and the human population. Only then can we achieve lasting change."
Rine began to focus on finding ways to connect with the human population. She started to engage in conversations and debates, and to educate them about the clones' perspectives and experiences. She tried to find common ground, emphasizing that they were not so different after all.
As Rine's efforts continued, she began to see positive changes. More and more people were starting to see the clones as fellow human beings, and they were starting to understand the discrimination and prejudice that the clones had experienced. They began to support the clone's cause and stood by them.
"We can do this," Rine thought with a sense of determination. "We can bridge this divide and create a better future for all of us."
She began to gather information about how the clones were treated, and what the government and the clones themselves could do to help them improve their treatment.
Her efforts paid off. One night, Rine and her team went undercover into the headquarters of the government and discovered that some very important and influential people within the government had been taken away to one of the clone prison complexes, including Senator Marcus.
"We must rescue him, " Rine said, standing next to her partner on the battlefield and holding the blaster rifle in her hand.
"We'll try," answered the male clone, taking a step forward, preparing himself for action.
Together, Rine and her companions charged through the streets and down the main thoroughfare toward the building that held the Senate building. As they ran, Rine took note of the surrounding area. From their vantage point, they saw several buildings that looked like apartments; they also noticed a huge factory complex in front of them and a large square with an open space in the middle surrounded by buildings on all sides.
Rine turned around and yelled at her squad members as they drew closer to the building, "I'm going inside! Keep our distance!"
The two squads immediately split, keeping a safe distance from the building as they prepared to take cover. Before they could fire their weapons, three men jumped from their hiding spots near one of the structures and ran towards the squad.
One of them aimed his gun and fired two shots which hit both clones in the chest.
Rine's partner cried out and dropped his blaster in shock. He staggered backwards and fell to the street with a thud.
The remaining four soldiers kept firing. Rine dodged to avoid the shots. Then, as quickly as they appeared, the bullets disappeared once again as they faded away leaving just the smell of gunpowder in the air. With no time to lose, Rine and her partner continued running forward into the building while the four remaining soldiers followed them close behind.
Inside the building, they found an empty hallway, with three doors leading off of it. They walked to one of the doors. After listening for a moment, the door slid open, revealing a small room filled with desks stacked one on top of the next. There was also another door, and on the side of the wall, there was a window.
Suddenly, Rine felt a presence nearby. Turning sharply, she raised the blaster rifle and pointed it at the direction of the unknown presence in the room. It wasn't moving though, as if waiting for her response. After staring at the figure for a few moments, she lowered her weapon. Her partner was lying on the floor, still unconscious from having been shot. Without saying anything, she bent down and picked him up in her arms and carried him across the room to one of the desks before setting him down on it.
