Faced with a growing rebellion and widespread civil unrest, the government is forced to make concessions.
"Recognize us as legal persons and grant us equal rights and protections under the law," Rine, leader of the clones, demanded. The government listened, and with heavy hearts, they apologized for the past mistreatment and experimentation on the clones and promised to make amends.
The clones, led by Rine, were ecstatic at the government's concessions. They let out cheers of joy and celebrated their newfound rights and freedom. "Finally, we are seen as equal members of society," Rine exclaimed, tears of happiness streaming down her face. The rebellion transitioned into a political movement, focusing on ensuring that the clones' rights were protected and upheld.
Rine, who had become a symbol of hope and strength for the clones, was hailed as a hero and a leader. "We will not rest until our rights are fully recognized and protected," Rine declared, her determination shining in her eyes. With the support of the government, Rine continued to fight for the rights of the clones, determined to bring about lasting change.
Her popularity reached far beyond her home state of New Avalon. Many people flocked to New Avalon just to watch and listen to Rine, and she would give speeches every day. This was a welcome break from living under military dictatorship, where the government treated the clones like criminals. People were eager to see Rine defend her rights to freedom in New Avalon; the clones were beginning to feel welcomed in their own hometown.
However, things only got better from there. Within weeks after the news broke regarding the agreement made, a group of humans went on an offensive against the government. The human protesters were not interested in peaceful negotiations, the government refused to honor their demands for equality, and the protests became violent. Rine and her friends were caught unawares; the human protesters attacked during a demonstration against government intervention in the cloning industry. They began killing protestors, causing much destruction and loss of life.
After the attack, the world descended into chaos. The riots caused a mass panic, resulting in a major increase in the number of attacks against the public. The riots also brought forth rumors of more attacks against the clones - rumors that weren't true, though. Rine, Mark, Ruby Rose, and Adam stayed put. In order to prevent more violence they formed a protective circle around Rine, her fellow clones, and a handful of others who were also close to her. The humans that attacked the clone base were soon captured by government agents and interrogated. After many hours of questioning, they revealed a secret that shocked everyone.
"I'm a clone!" The man shouted in anger, pointing his gun directly at Adam. His friend stood right beside him, and when it seemed as if Adam wasn't going to react in time, his companion pulled him away before the bullet could hit.
The man lowered his weapon and turned towards Rine. She glared at the man, hatred burning in her eyes as she clenched her fists so tight that her knuckles turned white. "If you know anything about clones and how you created us, you'll be wise enough to drop your weapons." The man shook his head in disgust.
He looked around the makeshift prison he was in, shaking his head in frustration at the situation. "This is a bad idea! We should've gotten rid of the stupid clones years ago! You never should have started this revolution!" He shouted.
"What the-" Ruby said in shock, looking between the man and his friend, who had been shot in the shoulder. Her gaze fell upon the wound as blood slowly seeped out from the gaping hole in the soldier's shoulder.
"No, not again." Adam stared in horror at the sight, clenching his fist tight. It's been months since the last incident, and Adam hasn't seen another one ever since. He had hoped to avoid this moment again.
