My multi-step, poorly thought-out plan starts by finding a way to get on that boat.

I really have a bad influence on people, I think, watching Topper charge the boat while the pink skies surround us. I have really brought him down with me on my criminal path. He has a black hoodie, a brown long short, and sneakers, and I'm wearing my short and a tank top, one of the few remaining clothes I have. I put my hoodie on my shoulder while singing the "Getaway Car" lyrics.

Topper must really think I'm annoying, but I cannot stop singing Taylor Swift's songs. When the boat is ready, I look up to him, squeezing his hand in mine.

"Are you sure?" If you do this, you lose everything, including your home and mother". I get that Weez means so much to him, but still, it's a big decision to take.

"I'm certain," he says. "There is nothing for me here."

"You are quite dramatic, you know. What about school?" My question might be stupid because he laughs his ass off.

"I already graduated from the advanced program; I'm only going to college next year," he said, so he is a nerd, a hot nerd.

He looks at me weird, and I remember to close my mouth.

"What?" he asks. "No, nothing; this is just really impressive; I'm actually proud to know someone as smart as me."

"As smart as you?"

"Of course," I say exaggeratedly, making him laugh before starting the engine.

The landscape is beautiful, with undertones of purple and pink, almost like a fantasy land. Even the color of the sea is mesmerizing, and I can't believe I am here right now, on the verge of finding Weez, my brother, my dad, and the gold. The last one is a bonus, making me dreamy.

The plan seems almost too simple. find a way into the boat, not topper, just me, because they would recognize him immediately. Get to Wheezie, pass a radio message to Topper, who will be waiting for us on the shore, and make our escape with some money I could find there.

The last part is only my idea. The whole thing is actually my idea, and Topper isn't a fan of it.

"I still don't like your plan," he grumbles under his breath as I raise my head to his.

"We don't have much of a choice, if we can manage to make it work at all. How the hell am I going to get on that boat?"

We had spent the day searching for the boat, with Topper keeping his head down in order not to be seen by anyone. We finally found the ship. It is almost too large to be overlooked on the restricted side of the port, only accessible by sea or via a control checkpoint.
