Chapter 14

I woke up in a dark room. I tried to remember what had happened but was only met with a throbbing migraine. I groaned and tried to get up only to find myself chained to the table. I was confused. What happened? Was I kidnapped? Did Tony throw a crazy party and I ended up chained some where in the workshop? I tried to light a fire in my hand but was only met with an electric zap. I yelped and went to grab my throat, only to be stopped by the chains. As I tried to catch my breathe, the lights suddenly turned on. "H-hello?" I asked, my voice hoarse and rough. I was met by a crackling static noise. "Glad to see you've finally woken up Miss Ninetales." A deep voice asks from what I think was an intercom. "Who are you? Where am I?" I ask again. The voice chuckles darkly. "My dear, you are in Hydras newest and finest science department. You like it, yes?" I growl. "No I do not. Let me go!" He sighs. "That's a shame... I was so sure you'd be excited to see your sister and nephew..." I freeze. "Sister?"

"Yes, sister. If you'd be kind enough to look to your left." I do as he says and gasp as I see my sister, beaten and chained to a similar table as mine. A few yards away from her sits a metal crib; and inside is a familiar black haired green eyed baby being tended to by a elderly woman. All of this on the other side of a wall of glass. "Shadow! Link!" I cry out. The voice chuckles. "They cant hear you." I growl tears streaming down my face. "Why are you doing this?" I can almost feel whoever it is smiling. "All in good time. I'm afraid I have to leave. I'm needed elsewhere. I do hope you enjoy your stay." And with that the voice is gone, replaced by a eerie static. I groan and relax my body against the cold steel table. All of a sudden all my memories come flooding back.

~FLASHBACK~

I sigh in agitation as I wait for Gengar to return. Tony chuckles beside me. "You have to be patient you know. He did say she could be in a different dimension."

I groan. "I know but the fact that someone can find her makes me excited. Once we find her we can bring her and Link back home." I glance up to see Loki pacing yet again. "If you need to tell anyone to be patient it would be Loki. If he keeps this up you wont have any floors left for Gengar to shift through." Tony laughs and I can hear Loki snort. "Ha ha very funny." With that he leaves the room, probably to pace some more. I sigh and look up to see Logan standing in front of me. "Yes Logan?" I ask irritably. He fakes a wounded look and plops down on the love seat across from us. "I'm hurt. Can't I just pop in without wanting something?" I tap my chin as if in thought. "Nope!" I say, sticking my tongue out like the child I am. He chuckles before getting up and disappearing into the kitchen; returning seconds later with three beers. He tosses me one, then Tony. "You need to relax, everything will be fine." I sigh and nod. "I know but it still makes me nervous that I don't know whats happening to them." He's about to respond when Gengar appears in front of me, his purple eyes glistening. "Miss me?" I jump up, spilling my beverage on the couch. "Hey!" I hear Tony whine. I roll my eyes and turn back to Gengar. "Did you find them?" He nods. "Yeah, but there's a problem." I tilt my head in confusion. "What problem?" He sighs. "Well I was right about her being in a different dimension..." I roll my eyes. "And?" Gengar looks up at me with his purple eyes. "I can only take one person there at a time. By the time we get everyone over there it could be too late." I sigh and then look up with bright eyes after a moments thought. "Take me first!" Tony shakes his head. "No, its too dangerous. Who knows whats waiting for you on the other side." I look at him with pleading eyes. "But Tony, if I get over there and get a good look at the place I can come back and teleport everyone over." Gengar taps his chin. "You know, that might work." I smile a smug grin. "Duh, I came up with it." He rolls his eyes and grabs my shoulder. "Ok miss hotshot, lets get going." He looks to the others and smiles. "We'll be back." He chants some inaudible words and all of a sudden were in front of a large black building. On the front it has a picture of the hydra symbol. I snort. "So original." Gengar looks at me and smiles. And keeps smiling. I give him a look and frown. "What?" I feel something hit me hard on the back of my head and I fall to my knees, my vision blurring. "That's what."

~PRESENT~

I groan as the memories come flooding back. "So that's how I got here.."
