Chapter 5

Natasha just stared at me in shock. "What?" I whimpered and nodded my head. "T-the b-baby's blind..." I managed to choke out. Tony hugged me tight and I shed a few tears into his chest. "Oh Flair" Tony whispered, rubbing my back. "I'm so sorry." I just shook my head and cried into his chest.

Natasha finally snapped out of her shocked state and raced into the room, followed by Clint, Thor, and Steve. "You c-can go s-see the b-baby if you w-want." I told Tony he lifted my chin with his finger and wiped away my tears with his other hand. "I can see the baby later. I'd much rather stay here and make sure your okay"

I nodded wearily and sat down against the wall. Tony slumped down beside me and started rubbing circles on my back. "I can't help but to think this is all my fault." He looked at me and cocked an eyebrow. "How so?" I sighed. "I'm the one who brought Shadow out to the mall and if I hadn't than maybe the baby would be ok. Maybe Loki was right." My head shot up and I gasped. "Oh my god. Why if me teleporting us around messed up the baby. This could be all my fault!" Tony pulled me into a hug and kissed my forehead. "This is not your fault. The baby could've been born blind whether you teleported them to only-god-knows-where or not at all. Don't blame yourself for the inevitable." I sighed an stood up. "Your right Tony." He smirked. "Aren't I always?" He asked being the cocky ass he is.

I rolled my eyes and took his hand, leading him towards the delivery room where my sister was. "Don't get cocky now Mr. Stark, not when I just thought you were so sweet and kind just a few minutes ago." He put a hand to his chest in mock shock. "Me, cocky? Never." I slightly giggled and pulled him in the door. "Lets go see that baby."

Nila pulled her ear away from the window where she was currently listening from. "Boss?" She asked through the com-link. There was static and a gruff voice came on. "Yes Nila." She sighed. "Well, the baby's been born-" "Good." her boss interrupted. Nila furrowed her brow. "Yes, good, but there's also bad news."

Nila flinched away as her boss screeched through the com-link. "What kinda bad news?!" Nila gulped. "Well, the baby's blind." He sighed. "It's okay, we can fix that. Is the team ready for action?" Nila nodded although he couldn't see her. "Yes sir. They're ready to strike at midnight when everyone's asleep."

"Good. Do not fail me Nila, you know what will happen if you do." Nila swallowed hard. "I will not fail you sir." A dark chuckle reached her ears. "You better hope not. And Nila..."

"Yes sir?"

"... Hail HYDRA..."
