Impure Souls (Hellsing X Owl House)

Chapter Ten - Red Rose Vertigo

As Owl Squadron moved in on Bobhan Castle, the castle was silent with no sign of the SAS unit. The Hellsing agents became suspicious as they moved deeper into the castle.

Eda: Something's not right. Keep your guard up. Check your corners and don't let anything get the drop on you. 

With that, Owl Squadron followed Eda's lead as they moved through the corridors of Bobhan Castle. The silence seemed out of place. The further they moved into Bobhan Castle, the more silent it became. At this point, Luz became freaked out.

Luz: Is anyone else creeped out by this?

Gus: Yep. 

Amity: Something must've happened. 

Eda: Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, my instincts are telling me something's out of place. Keep your eyes peeled. Something tells me we're not alone and I'm not talking about that SAS unit. 

Just as Eda said that, a single gunshot was heard in the other room. Immediately, Owl Squadron rushed to where the gunshot was heard. When they entered the door, they found Belos surrounded by dead SAS soldiers. Shooting at Belos was the SAS Commander. The SAS Commander kept shooting at Belos until he ran out of bullets.

Belos: Well would you look at that, Commander. You're all out of bullets. What are you going to do now? 

As Belos cornered the SAS Commander, he turned to see the Hellsing agents aiming their weapons out of him. 

Belos: Now what do we have here? Agents of the infamous Hellsing Organization. It seems you lot are not as obedient as I would hope. 

Luz: What the hell are you talking about?!

Belos: This is a very lovely castle. If only such castles existed in my....younger days. 

Eda: I take it you're the Vampire causing all this trouble. 

Belos: Your powers of deduction serve you well, Captain Clawthorne. I wondered if the Hellsing Organization still had teeth after the loss of the No Life King. It's a shame of what happened to him. I had hoped to be the one to kill the Hellsing Organization's pet dog. 

Amity: You're a fool if you think you could take on the likes of Alucard. 

As Amity said that, Belos laughed. He then turns his attention to the SAS Captain. Without warning, Belos kills the SAS Commander and drains him of his blood. Before Owl Squadron could fire their rifles, Belos disappears in a cloud of mist. However, Belos's laughter could still be heard. 

Belos: I like your spirit, agents of Hellsing. But I'm afraid this won't end well for you if you keep going down on this path. But I am a merciful Vampire. Leave my domain and you shall be speared for the time being. 

Luz: Like hell we'd listen to a scum sucking Vampire! 

Belos: You have no idea how insignificant you all are. You are dust motes in a storm...a grain of sand upon a beach. Meaningless. Miniscule. In the grand scheme of things, the Hellsing Organization is inconsequential. But now you are here, no doubt here to hunt me down. But now....Alea iacta est.

As Belos said this, the bodies of the SAS soldiers began to get up. The Hellsing agents of Owl Squadron watched in shock as the SAS unit were reanimated as Ghouls. 

Belos: It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience. 

Eda: OPEN FIRE! OPEN FIRE!

Left with no other choice, Owl Squadron fired on the now Ghoul SAS Unit. Belos watched from the shadows with amusement as the Hellsing agents were forced to kill their comrades. 

Luz: Damn! They're everywhere!

Gus: I got your back! 

Amity: We're surrounded! We need to....

When a Ghoul moved to ambush Amity, Luz turned her assault rifle on the Ghoul and blows it's head off. Amity turns her head and nods at Luz. The laughter of Belos was soon heard. 

Belos: Smoke and shadows, ghosts in the wind. Do you truly think that your little Hellsing Organization can stop what has already begun. You may have slaughtered my newly created followers, but you only delay the inevitable. This is only the beginning. Life is a happening puzzle in our early days, but as we grow more and more old, we start to realize the meaning of life and the pattern with which it goes on. It actually is nothing but creation, followed by preservation and then destruction. Humans are nothing but divided amongst the two sides of a coin. They would wanna fight for peace, but by physical war, and only that victory would bring them the final peace. Wake up to reality! Nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world. The longer you live.....the more you realize that reality is just made of pain, suffering and emptiness. In this world, wherever there is light – there are also shadows. As long as the concept of victors exists, there must also be the vanquished. Allow me to show you my power. 

As Belos said this, the entire castle began to shake. At this point, Eda could see that this was a losing fight.

Eda: OWL SQUADRON! GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!

Luz: But....

Eda: NOW! GO! GO! GO!

Without hesitation, Owl Squadron pulls out of Bobhan Castle. They were able to escape the castle and drive away, leaving Belos along in the castle. As Belos watches this with satisfaction, Owl Squadron had finally encountered the Vampire responsible for these recent string of Vampire attacks. Now they had to plan out their next move.
