-Tall Oaks, USA/ 2013 Present Day

The loud shockwave of the explosion threw you to the ground, pain flooding through your veins as you grunted, leaning up on your arms to view the fire and debris that surrounded you. Most of the undead had been taken out by the explosion, leaving you to slowly attempt at standing to your feet.

"Here," a voice called out softly and soon you felt hands latch onto your arm and shoulder, the strength of whoever it was lifted you up and on your feet, giving you a moment to wipe the sweat from above your eyes.

"Thanks I-" you paused, eyes widening.

No way...

"Leon?" You couldn't believe your eyes and hoped to everything you weren't hallucinating. He was here, and helping you at that.

"We can talk later, right now we need to go," his eyes were focused, but you could see he'd also been in a searing amount of pain as his hand held onto his abdomen.

"Okay," was all you could manage as you nodded once in agreement.

"Hey, come on! It's safer here!" A man waved you down, calling you into his direction, but before you could listen for once in your life, your mind brought you back to Cole, the man you'd helped earlier.

Oh no, no no no.

"Oh no, give me a moment," you spoke hurriedly. You dashed into the opposite direction, pulling the doors, to the bar, open to meet-

"Oh thank God, there you are," your eyes met Cole's grey ones, and he looked horrified, gun aimed in your direction.

"What happened out there?" He inquires, brows furrowed, lowering the weapon you'd lent him and letting out an exasperated huff.

"I need you to come with me, we need to go," dodging his question, you watched as he gathered his things, placing a backpack over his shoulder, before handing the gun you'd lent him back to you.

"No- you need that, especially with what's out there," you spoke hurriedly, causing him to nod, before the two of you headed back outside. Doors rustling as you pushed past them.

He waited?

There Leon and a woman stood, head in your direction, seemingly in waiting. It caused your heart to flutter by the tiniest bit as you pulled Cole into Leon's direction.

"There's a gun shop ahead, we can rearm there," Leon spoke as the four of you moved ahead to meet the other civilians.

"We'll probably find more people there," you exclaimed, eyes looking to Leon for a split second before facing forward once again.

"What do ya think?" Leon inquires to the unnamed woman walking adjacent to Leon and opposite to you. She seemed troubled, the look on her face screamed her disapproval.

"Don't see any other options," she answers, defeated.

Does she not care to help keep civilians safe?
