-Tall Oaks, USA/ Present day

"Hold on," the driver says as you look up through the bus' windshield. A zombie had stepped its way into the road before the bus lurched down the road and over the undead man, now losing control as it begins to skid across the concrete, launching you, Leon, and Helena toward the back of the bus.

"Urgh!" You grunted, feeling your back make contact with the floor harshly.

"You alright?!" Leon shouts, seemingly in and out of consciousness, just like you were. His eyes glazing over as he looks in your direction.

"I- I hear them, their coming!" You yelled in fear as growls began to surround the bus, which felt as if it were hanging over a cliff. You couldn't find the strength to stand to your feet as you lay, eyes fuzzy and ears ringing.

"No!!"

"Help me!!"

Your eyes slammed open as you leaned up on your arms to witness your fellow survivors being attacked. They were pulled through the windows as the undead began filling the bus.

"Ah shit!" Leon musters, pulling his gun from its holster, Helena doing the same. You followed in time, aiming from the ground and shooting each one in the same place, the head.

"They just keep coming!" You shouted, gunshots piercing your ears for everything they were worth, but you began to recognize certain faces. The survivors, all of them, had turned and were now looking to you for a meal.

Where is Cole?!

Your thoughts screamed at you as your mind was filled with grief and worry. You didn't want the same fate to succumb to Cole as it had unfortunately so for the others.

"We're going over!" Helena bellows, making you realize that yes, you were indeed hanging off the edge of a cliff, and felt the bus' wheels begin to turn violently, bumping and rolling slowly over.

"Brace yourselves!" Leon yells, catching himself once the bus rumbled against the hard rocks, moving once again, slowly inching closer and closer- your faces were lit up by lights. An oncoming truck readying itself to slam into the bus, horn bellowing as it raged its way in your direction.

"Grab hold of something!!" Leon's voice was the last thing you'd heard as you felt a slamming sensation rumble through out your entire body, floating in mid air before you felt arms wrap around your midline.

CRASH!

•••

You heard and felt the droplets of hard rain pelt your already sore body as your eyes fluttered open, you'd been lying on your back, feeling someone lay just beside you. You grunted as you began to stand to your feet, mind too filled with confusion to realize who'd held you during the drop.

Your eyes turned, scanning the people around you, Leon, Helena and- Cole? He was alive! You smiled softly as you held onto your abdomen, Cole's grey eyes looking back at you.

"Wasn't sure you made it," he spoke painfully, grunting lightly as he did so, brows furrowing.

"Ditto," you managed before your eyes met the bus- it was the driver, he reached his arm out for the four of you to help, seemingly unable to speak.

"Hold on we'll-"

BOOM!

The bus blasts into an explosion- killing the driver and anything else on the now forgotten bus. Your hair being thrown back as your eyes widened, a harsh breath of air being sucked into your lungs, shock grazing your heart.
