"So where would you say that your dysphoria truly started to inflict itself upon you emotionally, Skye?"
"Pardon? I can't hear you properly!" The glass window of the cubicle is so thick and there is some loud din sounding away in the background. A result of one of those many machines, maybe even the very one I find myself stood in. Dysphor rolls the window down as if I am stood in a standard 5-door car.
"Where would you..."
"I still can't! This machine is so loud!" A powering down sound is heard and the din ceases.
"My apologies. Now, when would you say that you first remember dysphoria truly starting to inflict itself upon you emotionally?"
"I would think that any time before school is unlikely. I remember always looking at the girls' school uniform as if it was so much nicer than what the boys had to put up with. It was just so pretty."
"From your somewhat recent internet history, those uniforms still fascinate you."
"Why did you say it like that? Don't make me sound so dodgy!"
"Ah, I simply meant that I see a purchase of a costume...a 'Danganronpa' cosplay outfit. It looks much like that of a schoolgirl."
"S-so." I can feel my blushing growing a deeper and deeper shade of red, even if no such thing can happen in this world of my AI avatar.
"No matter. Your first day of primary school it is. Now, don't touch anything while you are in there. Just relax and let the machine do its job."
I stand back so that I am in the direct centre of the cubicle as the din starts up again. Bright pink light flashes and a voiceover occurs, a female voice this time, not Dysphor himself.
"Skye Christie. Age. 5. Sex. TBC. Location. Edinburgh, Scotland. Please hold still and close your eyes."
One final bright pink flash of light - I should have closed my eyes sooner - and all of my senses go out for a few seconds like diminished and extinguished candles.
