"Y/N, are you still sitting there? It's been over an hour mate."

Minho had come to sit beside you by the window which had gone dark as night fell, the many city lights glittering below.

You turned to him."What if I ended it too soon, what if she deserves a second chance and I've just messed up every-"

"I'm going to stop you right there my friend" Minho said kindly, putting his hand on your shoulder. "You did the right thing. Don't second guess yourself so much."

"How can you be sure?"

"Y/N, I've seen the way she's been affecting you. I mean this in the nicest possible way but you look like you've aged 20 years in the past few months. It made me so angry to see her treating you like this, like you were nothing. I wanted to tell you just leave her already."

"Really?" you asked. You hadn't known this since he'd never said anything.

"Not just me - all our friends have. I haven't told you this, but we've seen this coming for a while now and been hoping you'd just leave her. But none of us had the heart to say it... because we knew how much you loved her."

His strained expression made it apparent this had affected him too.    "We all miss the bright, cheerful Y/N who was full of life. Look I know it's hard now, but it's for the best. Hang in there Y/N, trust yourself."

You let his words sink in for a minute then nodded. "Yeah you're right. It was a long time coming. I guess I'm just in my feels too much at the moment."

"It would be weird if you weren't, you were together for so long. But hey, let's get you back out there. We've got the bike ride for cancer thing coming up in a few weeks, Our team is gonna need you."

You'd completely forgotten about the bike ride. "Oh yeah - the bike ride, of course. It'll be good to get out and have something to work towards."

"Not just that - maybe you'll meet a new special someone. It's a big event, some idol groups have even entered teams" he said with a wink.

"Wait really??" you sat upright.

Minho laughed. "Yeah really. Look at you all excited now. That's what I like to see." He stood up and yawned. "Get some rest fam, you're gonna need to be in good shape by the time the race comes around." He ruffled your hair and headed back to his room.

You rolled your eyes. "Yeah yeah whatever, that's not why I'm doing it. But hey, ya never know. Goodnight Minho."

"Goodnight Y/N."

The day of the bike ride had finally arrived. You breathed in the crisp morning air as walked your bike through the crowd that had gathered in one of Seoul's biggest city squares. Everything nearby had been closed off to traffic for the day. You squinted around in the early morning light, looking for your team amongst the many other riders.

"Y/N!! Over here!!" you heard a familiar girl's voice shout from behind you. You looked back to see your friend Nari waving with a bright smile on her face.

You smiled back and walked over to give her a hug. "Good to see ya Nari."

"And you as well. Tell me-" she said, holding your shoulders with a concerned look on her face. "Are you holding up alright? I know it can't be easy for you right now."

"I think so" you said with a strained smile. "It's tough but I'll get through it. I'm glad to be out here."

She pulled you in for another hug. "Aw, don't worry. We got your back you know that right? We're so happy you could join us, come on everyone else is waiting for you under this tent over here."

You joined your other friends Minho, Jae and Eunha, who would be your teammates under one of tents for some pre-race coffee and pastries. It felt so good to be out with everyone instead of alone with your thoughts.

The team prepped their bikes and made their way over to the starting area, joining hundreds of other Koreans who were participating. An announcement came out of a loudspeaker:

"Welcome to the annual 100 km Ride For Cancer, please gather in your teams of 5. Remember to watch out for other riders and stay on the route marked by officials in orange vests. There are water stations every 5 km, and food stations every 25 km. A reminder - to avoid congestion, your team will be staggered with one member leaving every 5 minutes. Your team finishes the race when your last rider crosses the finish line. Your first rider may now make their way to the start line."

"That's you Nari" said Minho. "So I'll be next after her, then Eunha, then Jae, and Y/N you'll be last since you're our strongest rider."

"I'll do my best to catch you guys. Look out behind you" you said with a grin.

Your team high fived and soon the race was underway. You had to wait for quite a while until it was your turn to leave, and during that time you couldn't help but notice how many pretty girls were here. You looked around for idol groups, but the only ones you recognized were a couple boy groups.

At last it was your turn to go. You powered through many slower riders, hoping you'd be able to catch your teammates over the multi-hour race which toured all around Seoul. You'd gotten about 30 minutes into the race when out of the corner of your eye you saw there'd been an accident.

A girl was on the ground beside her bike in the middle of the road, looking scared as the herds of riders snaked around her. Everyone just rode right past, too focused on the race and nobody bothering to help her. You put your bike over on the side of the road and make your way over to the girl, trying not to get hit by the many other riders.

"Hey, you alright?" you asked.

She nodded timidly. "Yeah, I'm just scared to move in case I get hit."

"Come on, let's go together" you said and offered her a hand up. She got to her feet and held your arm as you led her to the side of the road while shielding her from the oncoming bike traffic.

"Oh thank goodness" she panted, short of breath from nervousness. "Can't believe we made it over here, thank you so much."

You were hit with a rush of deja vu when you heard her pronunciation. Cahn't believe we made it ovah heeya, thank you sor much.

"No problem. Looks like you've got a flat tire, we better get that fixed. There should be a station ahead that has a repair kit."

She frowned. "Isn't this slowing down your race? Don't worry, I'll get there and fix my tire, I don't want to hold you back."

You looked at the girl you'd just helped, suddenly taken aback by how pretty she was. You thought you'd seen her somewhere before as well. But you weren't convinced she'd be able to fix her bike on her own.

"Have you patched a tire before?" you asked.

"Well... um, no, I haven't" she admitted.

"Come on then, I'll help you. Don't worry my teammates will understand, after all this is just for fun and to raise money for cancer."

"Thank you so, so much. Honestly, you're my hero right now."

You smiled to yourself when you heard her call you her heroer. Yep, she was definitely Australian. "Don't mention it. Hey, we better get walking."

It turned out that there weren't any repair stations for a long way, so you had some time to talk with her.

"I'm Hanni, by the way" she said with an adorable bright smile, taking off her helmet.
