You heard your apartment door open and saw Rosé's sister Alice walk in. You'd forgotten that she was coming over to pick up Hank, since it was her turn to take care of him.

Alice gave you a silent smile and wave and tiptoed into the living room, not wanting to interrupt your private video call with your girlfriend. Rosé didn't notice as she was too busy baby talking to Hank, who just seemed tired.

You turned back to Rosé on the screen. "Oh Rosie, remember I've got that 100km bike ride for cancer research next month...?" She'd promised to make a donation for your team a while ago.

"Oh... " she paused for a moment with her mouth open and eyes looking around. Had she forgotten? "The bike ride... OH!!! The one you're doing with Minho and the team you made right?? Yes of course! How much do you want..?"

"Up to you really, the usual donation is around 50 dollars..."

She giggled to herself. "50 dollars? Oh come on. How about 50 thousand?" she said with a wink.

You were stunned but also not, since she had more than enough money. "Oh wow, that's um, very generous, but you don't have to give that much you know."

"No but I want to, just because you're my Y/N." She blew you a kiss and your heart fluttered dangerously. Rosé looked at you with her loving smile. "I'm so proud of you for doing this, I wish I could be there for it-"

She was interrupted by a voice in the background. "Blondie, you almost ready?"

You frowned at Rosé, looking for an explanation.

"Oh," she looked over her shoulder to where the voice was coming from. "Yeah Simi just give me a minute, I'm talking to Y/N!"

You heard what must've been Simi's voice again. "Y/N? Who's that?"

Who's that? You were unimpressed and stiffened your lips, making your girlfriend wince. She turned back to Simi "You know Y/N, we've been dating since forever?"

"Ohh right, you're in a relationship! I knew that." you heard Simi giggle. A moment later she joined Rosé on your screen. "Hey Y/N!"

Rosé smiled at you awkwardly. "This is my friend Simi, you know her and her sister Haze right?"

"Hi. Yeah, you've mentioned them before." you replied. They were the famous influencer twins from LA, and although you'd never met them before they seemed to be good friends with Rosé.

Simi smiled and bit her tongue. "Aw, look at you two lovebirds. So adorable, I wish I had what you two have. You must be so happy together."

You made eye contact with Rosé, not wanting to say anything. Her eyes dropped to the floor with a look of guilt. She opened her mouth to reply but then another girl who must've been Haze joined them.

"Girlssss, you ready to party?"

Your heart sank, realizing the real reason Rosé had made herself look nice this evening. It wasn't for you.

Simi did a little dance with her arms. "Born ready! Anyway Y/N sorry to temporarily steal your girlfriend but we have to go, the limo is gonna be here any minute. Oh! I just got a text and the driver is outside. Lets gooo!"

The sisters walked out to the door but Rosé stayed frozen to the spot, staring at you uncomfortably with a look of guilt and pity across her face. She looked like she really felt bad and wanted to say something to you, to explain what was going on and how she could just leave so suddenly.

But all she could manage was a tiny whisper. "I'm sorry, I have to go."

You were speechless and just stared with your mouth open as she awkwardly stood up and got her bag.

"Love you Y/N!"

You said nothing. She nervously waited for a reply and shuddered to see the ice cold look in your eyes, a look she'd never seen in all your years together.

The silence was broken by one of the sisters in the background "Blondie Babe, come on we're gonna be late! Lets go girl!"

You'd never heard her being called "Blondie Babe" before and you didn't like it much. To you it felt like everything this new person she'd become, and none of the girl you'd fallen in love with.

"Go. Go have fun Chaeyoung." You used her real name, speaking almost as if daring her to do it.

"Y/N" she pleaded, seeming like she genuinely shared your pain. "I really, truly am sorry. I'll make it up to you, I promise. I love you."

You watched Rose's laptop screen close, but in her hurry to leave she hadn't closed it all the way - you could still hear what was going on.

And unfortunately, that included you hearing her shouting "Let's partaayyy!" to the other girls, as if her apology had already left her mind and drifted off into the sky.
