If it had been hard to put Rosé out of your thoughts before, it was almost impossible now.

You couldn't help but unblock her Instagram and see what she'd been up to. One post you'd missed caught your eye: it was about the bike ride, and she'd encouraged her fans to donate which made you happy. Maybe she's changed back into the kind, thoughtful Rosie?

However, you also couldn't help but notice the post involved several shots of her in different poses with her Saint Laurent bicycle. She had a seductive expression, and it looked more like she was modelling than supporting the cause. On top of that, she'd even tagged @ysl @anthonyvaccarello. You shook your head. Can't have changed that much.

And that's exactly what had messed you up for so long; Rosé had just enough great qualities to pull you back in her sea of toxicity.

Meanwhile, NewJeans were busy promoting their new songs. You kept talking to Hanni whenever she had a chance, and the conversation with her was always fun and flowed naturally, you eagerly awaited her messages.

However, you had the lingering thought of Minho acting sus while texting her and you were pretty sure they were still talking, since when hanging out with him once you spotted him texting her.

One afternoon you'd just gotten home from work when you saw a package had arrived. You curiously opened it and found a surprise:

There was no card or note but it was obviously who had sent it

There was no card or note but it was obviously who had sent it. You took out the bottle and examined it.

Tiffany & Co. X Dom Perignon
Limited Edition Champagne

You didn't even want to look up how much this must be worth. It was a lavish gift, but a little tone deaf since you weren't really into drinking - she was the one who loved champagne.

You set it on the counter and ate one of the macarons it came with instead. Suddenly you heard the doorbell ring. Just like last week you hadn't been expecting anyone, and got a nervous feeling considering what happened last time.

You opened the door to find an unexpected surprise: Hanni Pham beaming at you warmly.

"Y/N!" she said, and you two hugged.

"Nice to see you! Come on in."

You led her into your apartment. So what brings you here? Also how did you know where I live?"

"Minho told me" she replied, and I wanted to bring you this!" She reached into a big shopping bag and pulled out a large Tupperware container. "I made you pho! It's just a small thank you for helping me in the race."

"Wow!" you exclaimed, taking the large container of soup. "Thank you so much. Pho is legit my favorite food, how did you know?!"

"Minho told me. He helped me plan all of this, you should thank him as well."

So that's why he was acting funny about talking to her, you thought with a smile. "Did you make it yourself?"

Hanni nodded. "Sorry it took so long. I was gonna use an online recipe - but then I thought to ask my mom for hers, since she's Vietnamese you know, and it was very complicated hehe. But I think it turned out well in the end."

"I can't wait to try it. That's really thoughtful of you. I was just about to make dinner but looks like I have it taken care of already."

"Hope you like it" she said. "Anyway, sorry to just show up like this, I just wanted to surprise you. I'll get going then."

"Hey, you're more than welcome to stay and enjoy it with me." you said. "Might be nice to have some company."

"R-really? Is it ok?" she asked with a shy smile.

"Course it is pabo. And besides, there's no way I can eat all this myself. Come on have a seat and I'll warm this up."

While you warmed up the pho Hanni sat down at the table and looked around your apartment.

"I really like your place! It feels very homey" she said. "Hey, what's this?"

She had noticed the extravagant bottle of champagne on your counter and went to get a closer look.

You paused. "Oh, that's uh, champagne."

"Wowww it looks fancy. And expensive. Is it for a special occasion?"

"Ah, not really. It was just a gift - from a friend," you added. "Hey your pho is ready, let's eat!"

As you two began to eat dinner Hanni peered behind you and noticed the box the champagne had come in also included flowers. "That's quite the gift. Your friend... she must really like you. Well - or he, of course."

"Uh yeah, she's pretty generous sometimes" you said, unintentionally confirming the romantic gift was from a girl. Ugh, why did Hanni have to see this? Should've said it was from Minho. Nah wait that'd sound weird.

"So, how are your promotions going?" you asked, changing the subject as you brought the pho over to the dinner table.

Hanni smiled. "Really good, thanks. We honestly couldn't have dreamed for things to go any better. It's really really busy but we're having so much fun so I can't complain. Thankfully our CEO gave us the day off and I could deliver my long overdue thank you!" Her eye smile was like sunshine.

"You really didn't have to but it made my day. I haven't seen you since the race, so I was really hoping that you would come through" you grinned, making a goofy reference to her line in NewJean's OMG.

It took her a second but then she choked on her soup and bent over in a fit of laughing and coughing.

"You ok?" you asked, going over and putting a hand on her back.

After a moment she had settled down. "Yeah, I'm good now. Thanks."

But then you made eye contact and both started laughing again.

"I almost died! This is your fault pabo" she teased.

"Oh so I'm a villain now? I thought I was your hero...? Ouch."

"Oh shush" she said, rolling her eyes. But from her blush and smile it was obvious she wanted you to do anything but.

You did your best (worst) Australian accent. "You want me to put a sock in it?"

She pursed her lips, trying to appear serious but she was giggling underneath.

All the jokes your friends usually shook their heads at Hanni laughed nonstop. Everything you said was funny to her and you loved making her laugh. Rosé had never laughed at your jokes anymore, if she was even paying attention enough to notice.
