Author's POV

The time where you three had to go back home, it was silent and you can feel the awkward tension swimming around the atmosphere as you say on the passenger seat. Atsumu was quiet, too quiet, he was being his unusual self, and Osamu. He was grumpier than usual, the grip he had on the steering wheel was deadly, and the glare he had on the road made you wonder what did happen when you were gone, it felt like they had a fight with each other that you didn't know about. You weren't that oblivious.

"So... How are you guys?" You asked, trying to break into the silent that started deafening you, you looked back at Atsumu who was busy scrolling and playing on his phone. He seemed uninterested.

"We're fine." Osamu answered for him and his twin and your head moves to him, he gives you a quick glance and gives you a small smile before moving his head forward.

"You can drop me off at my hotel. I'll send my manager to grab the rest of my things at your house." The blonde blandly says, his eyes not moving away from his eyes, because it felt like, just one glance at you he felt like he was back to being putty in your hands.

"You're leaving, today?" You asked in a genuine curious voice also feeling a little sad that it was too soon, he was like a brother to you.

Atsumu can't help it, but he had to, fuck, he needed to ignore you. It was for the better, for him, for his brother... For you. He didn't need to make it more complicated than it was.

"Mhm." He only hums in reply, his gaze still on his phone.

You sensed his lack of energy in your conversation so you kept quiet til then, just waiting to go back and maybe find out what really was happening.

Atsumu gets out of the car as his twin brother stops right in front of the luxurious hotel in the city, you both watch as the blonde slams the door shut, walking to the back of the car to open the trunk and get his things out. For good.

You felt bed, so without any words you got out as well. Running at the back of the car and you faced the blonde with a slightly panting chest, he carries his bag, and he looks surprised to see you. In front of him, panting and your eyes tells him you were genuinely sad.

"Will you be ok?" You asked, you had been through some things with Atsumu, he became such a nice brother figure to you. And seeing him leave like that slightly hurts you, because you always wanted someone to look after you, specifically a brother and to you Atsumu was like that.

Atsumu he couldn't believe it, you were worried. And just like that, his heart began to beat fast again, looking right into your eyes, maybe he was guilty, why? Because he searched, to see your pupils dilate just a little at the sight of him.

"You taught me a lot, Y/n." He says with a small smile, he couldn't help it. He knew he was supposed to ignore you but it's you, everybody knew he couldn't bring himself to ignore you when you're up all in his face looking at him as if you were begging him to stay.

"Well, you need this then." Wrapping your arms around his waist as you laid your head on his chest in a friendly hug. He began to mean a lot to you, and now he was leaving.

Maybe you couldn't hear it, and he hoped you didn't: the beating of his heart, knocking right on his rib cage as if it was desperate at freeing away, his eyes widened a little, he froze just like that, your warmth was in his arms and boy, did it feel like home. Why was it so nice? Why... Why did he want to be in your arms forever? Take you away from anyone, but there was this force, this force that was stopping him from doing so. And before he can even process it he instantly removes you, he didn't even had a chance to hug back, he felt bad for Osamu, his feelings were taking advantage of him.

"I'm gonna go." He only says in a shy voice, feeling so damn bad to reject your hug, so when he turned around with his luggage in his hand, he stopped for a moment.

This was probably going to be the last time he was gonna see you. He took a step, this was gonna be the last time he was gonna see you. And just with that, Miya Atsumu turned back around and grabbed gently on your arm to bring you into his. Dropping his luggage as he wrapped his arms securely, might as well not give a damn about everything, this was going to be the last time you were gonna see each other.

One thing was for sure, Atsumu was a lonely man in his world of volleyball, he only had his passion, his teammates and the support with him to his journey, but never someone to always be there, make him feel the things you were making him feel, this love he was feeling for you was so strong it made hims so vulnerable, so... Weak. And imagining you in those stands cheering for his team and mostly him, it just pushes his happiness to the limits, he can always move heaven and earth, to really have you as his.

But, we can never really have everything that we want, huh?

You were the ground his feet will never reach, the sun that shines during his darkened days. But you had someone and that someone was your very brother, what did he have to win you over? Nothing, Osamu had it all, you were in love with him and he couldn't change that, you were happy with him, and plus. Osamu came here first.

He did came first, but it doesn't mean he couldn't feel so sad when looking at the scene in front of him.

How did it come to this point? The point where he absolutely had no idea what he was gonna do if continuing. Osamu was a man of plans, he knows what he's gonna do sooner or later, he knew his decisions but now looking at his twin and you, he just wanted to think... Because he was clueless, he needed to clear his head, yeah. That would help, sort this thing out. Alcohol, with friends, yeah that will do the trick, to get over the fact Atsumu is deeply in love with you now.
