Whenever Grim Strikes

Whenever grim strikes you,

And light does not seep through the layers of

sheer morose,

Do not fray.

For when a greyness sinks into your heart,

And a coldness muddles your bones,

And all is lost,

And all is hopeless––

One must not break.
One must hold on,

Knowing there is another one,

Another thing,

That brings light into the world,

That brings colour and joy,

And luminescent love:

Blueberry pancakes.
