Yujin

An hour probably passed by since the dragon left.

I took a few of the dragon's treasures ranging in shapes but had almost the same sizes. And played chess. With myself.

I sighed, bored. Now that the desperation to escape vanished, I suddenly have a lot of time on my hands. At least with the dragon to accompany me, I had someone else here with me. Honestly, how has she been living alone all this—

My thoughts were cut off when I heard something.

I stood up and let the blanket fall on the floor.

I listened more intently.

"Wah! Wah!"

That sounds like a cry of a—

"Wahhh!"

I ran to the tunnel entrance where I think I heard crying. I approached one on the far left tunnels that was almost covered by the treasures. I pushed them aside and heard the cry more evidently.

"Oh no, what's a baby doing here?" I asked to no one anxiously.

I haven't been inside this tunnel so I'm unsure what creatures would be in there. But...

"If the dragon arrives and she doesn't find me here, she'll think I ran away. And heaven knows what she'll do to me." I rumbled.

The crying got louder and I immediately made up my mind.

I grabbed a sword from the pile of treasures. I also picked up a dagger and pushed it inside my boot. I quickly gathered the silk cloths and chains I used earlier and stood in front of the tunnel. I grabbed a knife and the end of the silk cloth and stabbed it to the floor. It stuck in between the stoned floor. To make sure I don't get lost.

I walked to the room I sleep in and grabbed a torch from the wall.

I went in front of the tunnel.

I shakily breathed in and went inside.

The only source of navigation I had was the baby's wails.

Please don't stop crying just yet, little one.

Upon arriving at a forked path, I estimated where the crying was louder and chose one.

Now there were four holes. I bit my lip and tried going inside one, still using the baby's wails for direction.

I hope it doesn't attract other creatures. I prayed.

I went through several other tunnels and I've lost track of how long I've been walking but I kept going.

Another fork, I groaned.

As I tried to listen where the baby was, only silence met my ears.

"No," I whispered, starting to panic. "Don't give up on me, little one."

I bit my lip anxiously. "Tell me where you are, darling."

I tried to look at the end of the two tunnels. I saw the right one had a small flickering light.

Story books say that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel, right? That could probably apply in real life. Although, I don't think they meant it literally.

The hall was longer here compared to the others I've entered.

When I finally arrived at the end, the entrance was blocked by a tapestry. The small light came from the bottom that the tapestry didn't cover.
