As I finally finished putting herbs on her wounds, I wrapped them up in bondage. There was a huge gash on her right arm and the left foot that got bitten. I tidied up the mess and lit up all the torches in my room. This room was much more refined than the other barely stacked room because this previously belonged to my parents.
I put a cold towel on jewel's forehead as I felt her starting to burn up. The wound might have gotten infected.
I frowned, not used to seeing her in pain and realizing that I don't like it.
I really do not like it. Should I clear my mountain of all wolves?
As I assessed my reaction to the princess, I have come to realize that I have quickly grown attached to her— like the treasures I fear would get scratched or dented.
I frowned again. No matter, I still have to return her.
I lighted an incense candle that could hopefully lessen her pain and relax her body.
I sighed and walked out of my room, I lit up the torches that leads to the main cavern in case jewel wakes up.
Now that I have finally shifted back, I could feel the grime that was days old and shivered. I feel disgusting.
Glancing at my room, I quickly made the note to take advantage of time and take a bath.
Before that, I checked on the young one in the treasure room. I found her in the crib I left her in, playing with the silver rattle that had different colorful gems around it. I felt my heart soften at the sight.
"I know I always told you that I don't know what to do when you finally see the world," I caressed her hairless head. "But now that I saw you, I know that I'll just have to do what I've kept doing— caring for you and providing your needs."
The baby smiled, as if understanding my words, and I smiled back at her.
Seeing that she's well, I left her in her crib and immediately went to take a bath.

As I step from the curtain of water, I grab a towel and wrap myself, wringing my hair out onto the stone floor. Steam rises from my skin as the water evaporates, my inner fire making short work of the droplets that cling to my skin.
My nose twitched.
The room smells like her, but now that I also took a bath, our scents seemed to have combined and the thought made me heat up further. Something about the princess just smells right, like a field after a rainstorm in the spring.
I abruptly shake my head from such ridiculous thought. The girl smells like a human and that's all. She smells good because I'm a predator and she's prey— it's simple biology.
I clear my throat and hurriedly changed into some trousers and fitted sweater. I passed by the room the princess used to temporarily reside in. I poked my head in and saw a plain made up bed and a few lit torches. The walls were bare and no treasure could be seen. Well, it make it used to be my room as a child and after the death of my parents, I started using theirs.
But it had the faint scent of jewel.
My nose twitched again and I immediately went back out.
I might have a few hours before the Kalopsian princess wakes up. Maybe I could prepare the cattle into smaller pieces first. Father always wanted it chopped before we feast.
