The Ceremony

There was a knock at our door, I ran down to open the door. In front of me was a strangely tall, dark man with piercing black eyes and hair. He was wearing an all black suit and black shoes to match. He smiled at me and handed me an envelope along with a box beneath the letter. I gave him a strange look and took the packages. He walked away and just vanished into thin air. I stood there in awe of what just happened before my eyes. I heard footsteps behind me and saw both of my parents looking horrified.

We closed the door and rushed to the living room to open the envelope:

At 11:59 pm, the day of the humans 18th birthday, the wolf will take a potion causing an automatic confusion between the human side and the wolf side. The wolf will unite with its paired human side to find their lost mate. This shall take place within the humans territory or domain. The human will not have a choice in whether or not they want to participate. An incompletion of the mating bond will cause both mates severe depression enough to lead to suicide. The human may have two guards with them to maintain their safety. However, witches will come out of their hiding places to ensure a safe barrier around the human and their guards. Anyone who tries to harm the human will instantly be killed. However, the wolf may have obstacles and barriers to reach their mate. Challengers may come out of hiding to try to steal the wolfs mate. Anyone can be a challenger and if the wolf dies, the ceremony will turn over to the victor to find the human. The human must be found and claimed.

The ceremony must be taken in the nature of the humans territory. This shall be done in woods, an ocean, caves, snow, underground or through mountains. The human will not know their place of hiding and the wolf must seek them out. If the wolf cannot find the human before sunrise, the mating bond will cease and the wolf shall never have another mate. The human will become mysteriously ill and will not see their 20th birthday.

If the human being sought is female, she must only wear a thin white dress provided by the witches. This dress will represent the purity of her soul. The dress shall come with no tears, stains or colors to shatter the purity of her soul. Her hair and face must be natural; there shall not be any impurities within her or else she will not represent the pure soul the witches will be seeking.

If the human is male, he shall wear only a thin white shirt and thin white pants provided by the witches. His clothing will also represent the purity of his souls. The shirt and pants must not come with any tears, stains or colors to shatter the purity of his soul. There shall be no impurities or else he will not represent the pure soul the witches will be seeking.

The wolf seeking the human shall shift at exactly 1:00 am. This will have given the human and their guards the opportunity to find the hiding spot the witches have claimed for the human. They will be guided through the guards instincts. The human may choose whom their guards shall be.

This has been written to benefit both the human and the wolf will share a bond beyond explanation. They will for the first time be able to communicate telepathically. The human will guide the wolf on how to find them through smell, touch, hearing and taste. The human must not take off their blind fold or else the mating bond will not be complete.

I could not believe the letter the wolves sent to my parents. I was going to have to wear a thin white dress provided by witches? I did not even know witches existed until this letter, how was I supposed to trust everything the letter was saying. Along with the letter was a box, this box had the white dress I am supposed to wear tonight after my party. When mom saw the box, she ran out of the room before she could even open the lid with me.

"Dad, do I really have to do this?" I asked with a cracking voice.

"I am afraid so my dear. Who knows? Maybe you and Klaus will work out and everything will be great. Have you thought about who you want your guardians to be?" I could hear the hopefulness that I would choose him and mom.
