This is a slightly fictional, slightly real story about my first pet Snail, but from her point of view. Enjoy!

Lucy the Snail POV:

I woke up to see a human girl looming over me. “How dare she disrupt my precious sleep!” I thought.

I heard her making noises I didn’t understand. Her voice was unusually soft and melodic and made me feel safe.

Without warning I found myself on a leaf and I was being carried away.  We entered the large metal and wood box ……through a glass slidey thing. I was gently placed on a wooden slab with.. Legs?!?

She said something I couldn't comprehend before pointing at me and saying, “Lucy”, then at herself and saying “Erin”. So, the human’s name was Erin, and she called me Lucy. Lucy, I liked that name, I made up my mind that I should be called Lucy the Snail from then on.

Erin, my human captor, rushed to a room. I decided to lounge on the leaf she had transported me on. A minute later she popped out with a tall plastic jar-thingy.

An older human lady walked into the room and addressed Erin with a quizzical look on her face. Erin said something the lady must have found funny as she lightly chuckled at the words, then Erin rushed back outside. I went back to dozing.

After a while Erin returned with the tall plastic thing and fistfuls of … GRASS?!?! My mouth was watering, I. WAS. STARVING. There was also a little plastic thingy with water in it. “Oh please let that be for me” my mind supplied. I slowly inched towards the end of the leaf in anticipation.

Once again Erin said something in a foreign language. She carefully picked up my leaf and plopped me in the tall plastic thingy. IT WAS HEAVEN. Erin was officially classified as my favourite human and I was never going back outside where I had to constantlytry to avoid all those huge winged things trying to eat me.

As soon as I got put in the jar thingy I started pigging out on the juicy grass. Erin put a sticky plastic sheet over top off the tall plastic jar I was in and promptly started to poke holes in it. But I just ignored it and continued my dinner.

After I was stuffed I decided to turn in for the night, my human had already. As I drifted off to sleep I thought, “What an amazing day”.
