The characters and plot if this story belong to me. If you wish to use it, please ask me first.

“What have you done!?!” the headmaster bellowed, all eyes now turned to me as he stood. “I-I-I” I stammered, unable to form a proper sentence. I honestly had no idea of what was going on. As far as I was concerned, I had done nothing wrong.

Hesitantly, I said “ W-what do you mean Sir?”. I was only trying to clarify what was going on but that just amplified his anger. Taking in my surroundings, embarrassed and confused, it suddenly clicked. The graffiti on the stage was a signed piece of artwork, but signed with MY name, Indi.

All day I had been in the study hall, studying for the upcoming exams. Unlucky me though, because I was all by myself so I had no witness to verify my alibi.

“I swear it wasn’t me sir”. I looked at him with pleading eyes. He just sighed
Headmaster Williams said he had to notify my parents of this breach of school policy. It was classified as “Vandalism of school property” I think.

No matter how hard I tried, I
could not convince the Headmaster or my parents that I was innocent. Whenever I tried to imply that someone else was guilty, they shut me down immediately.

I made an oath to myself that when I found out who the scheming tyrant that framed me (very cleverly I must admit), I would get revenge.

That Saturday I had to go to school for my weekend “detention”. I had to supply mybown cleaning supplies so I managed to sneak in some sleuthing gear. To my extremely boring pile of cleaning stuff I added;

A magnifying glass (to magnify areas of the artwork to look for clues),
And some fingerprint retrieving kit thingy that I got from lucky book club in year 3.

There are only 3 girls in the school that I knew of, at least, capable of creating such a masterpiece; Maddie, Aliyah and Evie.

Aliyah and Evie were my best friends though, so I had narrowed down my search already to only ONE possible culprit. And best of all, Maddie had a motive.

Maddie has been my mean girl bully since kindergarten. Along with Poppy and Cassie, her mean girl lackeys. I know this doesn’t necessarily mean that they did it, but… it was certainly likely.

I had gone to Aliyah, Evie and I’s secret hideout when I suddenly heard something. Aliyah and Evie were having a secret conversation without inviting ME!

On hearing their voices I whipped out my voice recorder and pressed play. “OMG, I can’t believe the headmaster fell for that!” Evie exclaimed.
“I know right?, especially since Indi, of all people, is a talentless lowlife” added Aliyah.

They kept blabbing about how “genius” their plan to get me expelled was (they didn’t know how the principal punished me at the time) not knowing I was recording everything.

When they finally left I retired my device and hid behind the wall, then sneaking down to the principal's office to report my discoveries and clear my name. Luckily this was enough evidence I had been wronged. So Aliyah and Evie’s parents got called and I
was free!

Technically lonely, but free!

Mum’s calling to everyone to come play the Hobbit board game, I’m out!
