The young girl paced up and down the gloomy alleyway waiting for her
friend to arrive.
Her best friend had told her to meet her here, though she didn’t realize that it was a shady backstreet in the part of town gang members prowled.
Tired, she slumped against the mossy wall. It was the middle of the night and her friend was supposed to arrive 30 minutes ago! Now she was all alone in a part of town she didn’t recognise, and her disheveled appearance made her look like the perfect prey for muggers.
About to give up hope, she found some warmth in the shadows. Suddenly,
someone grasped her wrist.
Elation thrilled through her, her friend had finally arrived.
