I slam my door and quickly change into my nightgown. I pace around my room in a mix of anger and anxiety. What am I supposed to do? Walking out onto my balcony, I look over the horizon into the sunset. I grasp the rail shaking. Finally, anxiety and stress get the better of me and I fall to my knees crying.

What am I supposed to do?

When I finally stop crying and become aware of my surroundings, the sun has set and the stars are out. I stand and compose myself.

I'll figure something out.

I walk inside and fall onto my bed. Sleep sounds so nice right now.

"Princess Ivy?" I'm woken up early in the morning by Kelly. I push myself up. "Your Majesty, breakfast is ready." I nod and Kelly practically runs out of the room. I get up and pick out my own dress. I choose a sky-blue ballgown with white detailing and a white corset. It's one of the only ones I like. I would like it more in black but at least it fits and is wearable. I put it on and redo my hair the way I did yesterday. I hurry to get downstairs to get breakfast before my father wakes up.

I make it in time and have a big breakfast. Bacon, eggs, pancakes, toast. The works. While I am eating, I overhear a conversation between two maids.

"Yeah, I can't believe they actually caught her this time."

"I heard she begged for her life."

"Yeah like that would work."

"Right? Like who in their right mind thought kidnapping the princess was a good idea?!"

"Yeah, at least we got her now. She won't be a problem anymore."

"What do you mean?"

"Her execution is in a week."

I freeze. E- Execution? I quickly finish eating and then hurry out of the dining hall. In the halls, I find my father. "Father!"

"Ivy! What is it? Have you eaten?"

"Yes, I ate. But what is this I hear about you executing Zilla?!"
"I'm not executing her."

Ok, goo-

"The executioner is executing her." He laughs at his own joke.

"WHAT?! Father no you can't!"

"Why not? She kidnapped you didn't she? Multiple times? Fair punishment isn't it?"

I hesitate, "I- B-but shouldn't we show forgiveness? Kill 'em with Kindness right?"

I cringe using my dad's words but I can't think of anything else.

Dad laughs, "No. No, she will be executed in a week. That's when the Executioner should be back from his travels."

I take a step back, then another, then another, I turn around and run to my room.

"IVY!"

I ignore my father.
