One year ago...

I was in the kitchen writing a grocery list of things we needed for the compound before F.R.I.D.A.Y alerted me that i was needed in the conference room. You think after 3 years, i would get used to artificial intelligence, but no, she catches me off guard till this day.

"Thank you F.R.I.D.A.Y, can you please let tony? i will be there shortly." I thanked the irish accent intellegence.

I stop working on the list, and i make my way to the conference room, i'm a little nervous on why i was called thus i never been called before, i don't go on missions so i never been in there before.

Maybe they want to add to the grocery list?

I step out of the elevator and i proceed to walk into the hallway and i pass by nick fury and maria hill, fury gives me a nod as maria greets me with a hello as i greeted them both back as they kept on walking by.

I open the door, and i see everyone there, and i mean everyone, including Captain America himself, i guess he's back from his mission. we've only seen him a few times out of the month. Fury has him swamped with missions. I walk in, and everyone turns to see me, shit now i'm nervous. But Nat and wanda give me a reassuring smile that eases me a little bit.

"Um, you wanted to see me?" I say

"Yes, ok, Avengers, go grab what you need and meet by the quinjet in 15, and sam, that doesn't mean bring redwing with you." He says as he stays in his chair, as the others get up and start to walk out except for steve he stays in his chair as well, i can't help but to glance at him he looks a little annoyed, he must've felt my eye contact because he looks at me and i almost break my neck to look away to sam telling tony wherever he goes, redwing goes as he leaves, causing tony to roll his eyes.

Tony motions me to take a seat, which i do. It's just the three of us now. I take a seat across from steve, and i can feel his eyes on me, but i try to avoid eye contact, i look at tony instead.

"Me and the others have to go on a mission in russia and we probably won't be back till the morning, i know usually one of us stay with you, but we were all called to this mission except for capsicle here, so it'll just be the two of you tonight." He tells me, and i widened my eyes, me and steve alone together? we don't even know each other very well.

This is going to be awkward af

"Okay." I simply say, i mean, what else can i say. It'll be fine, with my luck he'll be reading the newspaper in his room all day till morning and i don't have to try to conversate with him, im just a quiet person.

Yea i like that idea

"Now that she is aware, if you excuse me, i'm going to say goodbye to bucky and sam." He says as he gets up, he gives me a nod and walks out, leaving me with tony.

I start to get up, too, but tony stops me. He puts his hand over mine.

"I know you guys don't know each other very well, but you don't have to worry. He keeps to himself, kinda like you." He kinda chuckles at the last part. I just smile back, a little relieved.

"I wanted to stay with you, but fur-

"I don't need a babysitter." Fuck that sounded harsh than i wanted too.
