CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

"AHHHHHH!!" I jumped off my bed and the creature beside it raised his head and smiled at me. He was sitting on a chair near my bed, rubbing his eyes while yawning. I don't recall inviting him inside my room.

"Good morning, Kathy~ and oh, creature sounded so off."

"Why are you here,  Nath?" I looked at the wall clock and it says '10:37'. This late in the morning?

"You're hurting me, after all the rescheduling I've done just to look after you?" the vamp stood up and fixed his uniform. I looked around, there was no sign of Evel. Where is he? "Evel's at school. I told him to go."

"You did?" I had some bed hair so I rushed to my mirror and fixed it.

"My brother wouldn't be a good leader if he practice ditching classes," he walked towards me, pressed his palm against my forehead and then nods, "Seemed like your fever went down."

I slowly slapped his hands away as I went out of my room. I still feel a little dizzy but I'm doing fine.

"Don't overwork yourself, I'd be dead meat if your fever will be worsened," Nath was following me down the stairs and it's getting annoying, "What?" I turned around and he stopped.

"Stop tailing me," I said. He pocketed his hands and walked past me. I followed him seconds after and we went inside the kitchen.

"I'm not tailing, I'm simply watching over you," he replied. Did he think of that response cause it was damn too late, "Shouldn't you say something to me?"

I sat down on a chair, Both of my feet on it. He looked slightly amused by my unlady gesture as I looked down on my knees.

"I'm sorry."

"Uh well, it wasn't what I'm expecting you say.." I raised my head and he was scratching the back of his head, "..could you tell me why you apologized?"

"Idiot. That's because I left you last night without properly saying anything," he sat down across the table, he simply rest his chin on his palm, his elbow against the table. His fixed his gaze on the basket of fruits in between us and took an apple.

"You shouldn't be," taking a bite of the apple, the sound of that motion made me cringe, "You're kind, Kathy."

"Where did that come from?" I chuckled before I burst into laughter, "I was never kind, I just do what needs to be done. And.." sliding my feet off the chair, I lazily reached over the grapes and took some to my mouth, "..I also apologize for Evel's recklessness."

He shifted his chair to the side. I thought he was going to leave but he didn't. He was now seriously looking at me. It was so intense I think I might puke. He took a bite of his apple again and seeing it so near made me gulp.

"Evan never resorts to violence even if I do something that will make him hate me," he stood up and paced his way towards the stove. I didn't notice that he tried to cook. When he opened the casserole, I immediately smelled the dish that made my stomach twist, "Last night was the first time he punched me."

"What?" people really have the habit of asking even if they already heard what has been said and I'm one of those persons.

Placing a bowl with his porridge in front of me, he sat back to his chair.

"I guess I really put him in the corner," he said. The apple he'd been munching for awhile became his toy, juggling it between his hands in mid air and instead of being annoyed, I thought of what he said. I should feel guilty but there's a part of me being happy, "Eat it up before it gets cold."
