CHAPTER ONE

"Aaaaaah!" I screamed, the first thing I did when I woke up and believe me, this shouting will give me curious neighbors why I'm so lively this early morning. Not early, early though.

I looked at the time on my bedside clock and man, why didn't this shit alarmed? It's already 7:30 in the morning, I'll be late.. again. Then there goes me getting my Late Slip later for the nth time.

"Kathy, I'll have your father to drop you off to school," my mom shouted from outside my room. I sighed. Can I be productive enough even just for once?

My name is Katherine Crizzel Sano, a senior in high school. 17, single because who the hell cares about having a relationship? It is bound to ruin you in any way it can. I sure do care much of the people around me and I am someone, who isn't sure of what I'll do in the future. I just go with the flow.

After doing my morning rituals, which was so damn fast, I went downstairs and outside to meet my father. He was already in his suit when I found him taking the car out of the garage. Work?

"Dad?"

"Yes, sweetie?" he opened the door of the passenger seat and then I entered the lift. I placed my bag on top of my lap and looked across the road.

"Are you leaving us, again?" I never know what my father's job was. Both of my parents never told me what they do outside. I heard that mom was taking the same field but she stopped because of me. I never had the courage to tell them that it bothers me. Sometimes, my dad would be out sudden without notice and comes back with bandages. I was starting to think they were into black organizations but he said that it will never happen.

"I'll be back," was his always answer. I didn't talk further, holding the hem of my skirt to keep my emotions and looked ahead.

I gloomy sighed as I entered our classroom. I was late, but was just glad that my instructor for the first period got lazy and didn't mind teaching his students today. I still have time to idle.

As a daily routine, I just sat on my chair and stared outside. It was more fun looking at the field empty than focusing my sight at my classmates. They aren't worth my time. They wouldn't even enlighten my day.

Time flew by so fast and our morning class was dismissed. It's always like this - my day always stays the same. I was about to go out, our class representative approached me.

"Kathy, I have a favor of you for our class," Lina asked, she's our class representative. I was partly interested but my mind says it's not my obligation to hear it out.

"What?" I asked with a bored tone then looked at her. I can see her trembling hands. Do I even look like I'm capable of eating her alive? If I could recall accurately, everyone was scared of me. I don't like crowds and noises that sometimes I move out of our classroom to sleep at the rooftop. Though I am not the president of the school or even a part of the student council, it seems like everyone doesn't like crossing paths with me. They thought I was scary, and offending me would mark end of the world.

"It's regarding the School Festival, well... I want to ask some suggestions on what--" I jabbed my finger at her before she even finishes, I already know what she needs though.

"First, I don't care about school festivals. Second!" I pulled back my hand and held up two fingers, "You guys can go on with the responsibility without me. What could I possibly contribute, right?" I looked around and there was already some tension, "I mean come on, you always have it your way."
