"I wish I had been there. The ocean has blessed you with a gift, brother" Kiri was looking at her brother in awe.
Everyone sat in a circle, listening to Lo'ak tell the story of how he was saved.
"The Tulkun have not returned" Aonung crossed his arms. "And besides, no Tulkun is ever alone"
Luana sat next to Neteyam. She looked to him, hoping that he would look at her too.
But all she saw was his expression. He looked like he was almost making fun on Lo'ak for his stupid accusations.
Tsireya had her hand on Lo'ak's arm. "Well, he was"
"What did he look like?" Luana furrowed her brows. She had a feeling she knew what Lo'ak was going to say.
"He had a missing fin on one side"
"Thats-"
"Payakan" Tsireya finished her sentence.
"Who's Payakan?"
"A young Pulu who went rogue. Hes an outcast, alone" Rotxo said.
"And he has a missing fin" Luana said.
"They say that he's a killer" Tsireya looked into Lo'ak's eyes.
"No, but-"
"He killed Na'vi" Aonung said. "And other Tuklun, far to the South"
Luana had heard all the tales about Payakan. She always had a suspicion that something was wrong, but could never quite place it.
"He's no killer!" Lo'ak said. "I'm telling you guys - he saved my life!"
Luana went to put a hand on Neteyam's arm, but he shrugged it off and stood up. "My baby bro, a mighty warrior who faced the killer Tulkun and lived to tell the tale"
Luana shook her head. He wasn't handling this right. Lo'ak just needed someone to listen to him, and Luana knew that feeling well.
Lo'ak pushed Neteyam away, and got up. "You guys aren't listening"
"No, Lo'ak im listening!" Tuk tried to say, but Lo'ak had already left.
Neteyam looked at Luana, who was pissed. She just shook her head, standing up to leave.
Neteyam grabbed her arm, and pulled her in so he could whisper. "Why are you upset?" He asked, scanning her eyes for a hint.
She sighed. "I don't think you handled that very well"
She snatched her arm back, and walked away.

Luana sat where her and Neteyam always went. She stared out into the ocean, thinking over how she maybe could've reacted more calmly when talking to Neteyam.
She had a tendency to keep everything she felt bottled inside, so no one would be able to use her emotions against her. The one time she had let a little bit of anger show to Neteyam, it had her freaking out.
"It's funny how even though you're mad at me, you still come to our spot"
Neteyam appeared, pushing past a leaf to get through.
"I am not mad at you"
Neteyam sat down next to Luana, and looked out into the ocean too. "I just feel like you weren't listening to him"
Neteyam bit his lip. "You're right. I don't really understand him" he started.
"I guess I was just scared of him getting hurt again, so I covered it up by trying to joke around"
Luana turned her head towards him. "I think you should apologise to him"
Neteyam took a second before he answered. "Okay. I will" Neteyam put a hand on Luana's cheek, and she leaned against it.
They sat there together in a peaceful silence. Luana kind of just needed a minute of quiet, and Neteyam respected that.
Except it was kind of hard to be mindful when she felt Neteyam staring at her. She turned to look at him, and sure enough he was looking at her too.
Luana bit her lip to cover her smile. "What?"
"You're so pretty"
Luana's face went pink and she smiled so wide. Why did he have to say these things to her?
"Shut up"
Neteyam put his hands up in defense. "Fine" a playful grin coated his features.
He reached his hand into the water, and splashed her.
She let out a gasp, looking at him in shock. She eventually smiled, standing up and kicking water straight in his face.
Neteyam laughed in disbelief, rubbing the salt water out of his eyes. "You're so done"
Neteyam pounced at her, pulling her under water with him.
Luana squealed as his arms wapped around her waist.
They were both under the water, Neteyams arms tangled around her. Luana lifted her hands up to his face, and pulled him in.
She kissed him gently. It was kind of a weird feeling, kissing underwater. But she liked it.
They floated gently under the water. Neteyam dragged his hand down the length of her spine.
Luana giggled, bubbles coming out of her mouth and breaking the kiss. Neteyam looked at her and grinned, pulling her back in for another kiss.
