3rd POV:

"Kids, can you come out here please?" Jake calls for his children.

It had been a week since Lo'ak had come home late after getting help from a man in the Tipani territory, and everything was pretty much the same.

Lo'ak was still trying to avoid his parents who were keeping him on a short leash since then.

As Lo'ak walks out along with Kiri and Tuk, he sees his father and brother waiting for him. Both are dressed in their warrior outfits.

"What's going on?" Kiri asks, seeing as both her dad and brother are dressed in proper wear.

"We are meeting with another tribe today for a negotiation" Jake answers her, though informing all of his kids at once.

Neteyum nods in confirmation, already knowing of the meeting.

"This meeting is very important so I'd like for you all to get ready and be on your best behavior," Jake says.

Lo'ak notices how his father stares directly at him when he says the last part, making him internally groan.

"The leader and head warrior of the clan will be here in a couple of hours and when they get here I want no shenanigans, got it?"

"Yes, father" Kiri and Tuk say as Lo'ak just looks blankly at his father.

"Okay. You're dismissed, now go get ready"

Tuk takes Kiri's hand, dragging her back inside to help her get ready.

Lo'ak looks over to his brother in question, "Why are we having a negotiation with another Clan? We never do" he asks.

Neteyum looks to his father, needing permission to give the meeting information out even if it is his own brother.

Jake nods at his oldest son, though he wished Lo'ak would stop ignoring him and just asked him instead of Neteyam.

"Mengì's has brought to our attention that an incident has happened at the border of our two clan territories. He'd like to discuss it" Neteyum tells his brother.

"Mengì?"

"The leader of the Tipani Tribe"

Lo'ak can only think of two words when his brother tells him this, 'oh shit'.
