"y/n i bought you something!"
mona shouted, noticing y/n laying down with her phone on the couch.
"get up, you lazy ass, you might like this. i think. if smart people think the same way."
"huh?" y/n uttered with confusion clearly written on her face as mona was deep in thoughts. she went up to the small kitchen counter and started unpacking the food, only to see her favourite sushi.
"how'd you know i like sushi?? i don't remember telling you."
"oh it's not me who decided on this." mona shrugged.
"what do you mean?" "my friend guessed it."
"who?"
"scaramouche."
y/n's breath hitched upon hearing that name. she suddenly felt her throat dry up, but she didn't want mona to notice that so she quickly added an "oh." before slightly nodding.
"i guess smart people do think the same way after all. he also finds astrology stupid."
"yeah.. haha he's right. thank you for the food though."
y/n gave her a smile, hiding her uneasiness. she lost 80% of her appetite but the thought that mona bought food for her was wholesome to her so she started to eat.
mona went to her room to change into her normal clothes but y/n's mind lingered around with thoughts. to be honest she never knew mona and scaramouche were friends, close enough to even hang out with each other. did he like her? maybe he did. maybe he lost feelings for her because he started liking mona. maybe that was the real reason he broke up with her. she couldn't really blame him. mona was pretty and had a likeable personality, a lot more likeable than y/n's since she was socially awkward and sucked at starting conversations.
the only thing y/n had were probably the brains and the "worn out gifted child" personality. she didn't complain about it. she hated jumping into conclusions though, so she just assumed they were close friends till now.
