the next few days went pretty fast. in between, y/n and her friends had planned on following both childe and zhongli on their little "date" to the dental stores and they ended up cringing throughout whenever childe gave subtle pick up lines to zhongli, who in turn was plain oblivious to them.
later on that day, they did end up getting caught because itto and thoma impulsively decided to argue again in the middle of nowhere. regardless of that, y/n would lie if she said she didn't have a good time with her friends.

today was finally the day of the freshers. after all the formal greetings and speeches were done, the 1st years were free to join in all the little events that were prepared by a selective sophomores.
"hey let's visit the haunted house first." hu tao jumped around, pulling y/n with her, and hoping the others would follow. and they did.
"you know what? fine. this time, i brought an extra pair of pants!" itto crossed his arms.
"good for you itto." yoimiya patted on his back.
"oh? are you guys here as one group?" y/n's jaw internally dropped at the sight in front of her as soon as they reached the entrance.
in front of them stood a really attractive girl with short hair, which actually looked very similar to xingqiu's but it honestly suited her perfectly. she had feline eyes with a confident aura surrounding her.
"yes we are!" hu tao replied, causing y/n to break out of her trance.
"great! i hope you have fun." the girl smiled.
"yelan! can you come here real quick?" a foreign voice called, which made her leave her spot right after greeting a bye to y/n's group.
'even her name is pretty.' y/n thought.
soon the group entered the fully dark hallway. the small lamps that had been set up were the only source of faint light they received.
it was pretty chaotic. they had itto and childe screaming at every little jumpscare, then there was hu tao and chongyun who somehow managed to scare the ghosts themselves. y/n and shinobu pretty much stayed unfazed or rather found everything funny. though truthfully, it was pretty unsettling, especially with the creepy background music and all.
going further into the hallway finding their way to the exit, they suddenly heard the sound of footsteps coming closer to them. on squinting their eyes, they saw two figures who were walking towards them. having no light, they had no idea who they were going to witness. it felt more realistic than the previous encounters they had with ghosts.
