"What happened last night, Alpha?" Colleen asked, his Alpha as he gently placed a mug of calming potion by his side. Conri hissed and ignored his question as he reached to grab the mug and drank it all in one go, wincing at the taste. He could feel his face heat up at how bitter the taste was. Damn, they keep upping his dosages. He's going to get tired of drinking this shit sooner than later.

Conri set down the now empty mug with a heavy sigh and glared at his Betas. He could see how bothered they were. He wished he could tell them what had happened last night but he couldn't. Even he doesn't want to accept whatever the hell it was that had happened.

"Can we please focus on the mission first?" He snapped, pushing himself away from the table. They should've known better than to ask him about last night's activities when he was so adamant about avoiding answering their questions.

"Alpha!" Dom growled, moving around the table to block the exit to the room. Conri sighed heavily and rolled his eyes. "Please, Alpha, you're scaring us...Fuck, the entire Pack has been on edge all day and it's your mood thats clouding us, they're starting to panic!"

"You think I'm scaring my Pack?!" Conri exclaimed, glaring daggers at them. "I have been protecting this Pack since the beginning. How dare you accuse me of being a threat?!" The room was silent, his Betas staring at him in shock. It was rare for Conri to raise his voice or show any sort of emotion other than apathy or irritation, the room felt tense and cold, even with the fire crackling in the fireplace.

Dom knew he'd probably regret the words coming out of his mouth the next moment but he couldn't help it. "No one is accusing you, Alpha, you're our Alpha, we love you and that's why we care!" The room fell into silence again while Dom waited anxiously for Conri to say something.

"I don't need your care." Conri seethed his Lycan on the surface.

"You stubborn son of a bitch." Colleen snarled. "If you didn't fucking trust us enough to give us some answers, then how the fuck are we supposed to trust you?" He growled causing the Alpha of Alphas to lunge forward but Colleen had already moved out of the way causing Conri to slam his fist into the table, snapping it in half. Colleen stumbled backward, his eyes blown wide with shock. He would have been severely hurt if that punch had touched him. Dominic stared at Conri's hand, watching as blood started pouring out of the cut on his knuckles. He glanced up at his Alpha who looked furious and almost pained. It hurt them more knowing he was in so much pain yet he wouldn't tell them anything.

"You trust me because I am the Alpha Of Alphas," Conri growled.

"Not when you're acting like a fucking child!" Colleen returned.

"Are you challenging me?" Conri hissed. His voice was rough and low, causing his Betas' hearts to race. Dominic has never seen his Alpha in such a vulnerable state before, the Alpha was always calm, composed, and above all, collected. The room was silent once more except for Conri's labored breathing. All eyes were fixed upon the bleeding Alpha in front of them, no longer able to look his Betas in the eye. He had made a mistake, big time. If he hadn't pushed the limits of his own tolerance, then maybe this wouldn't be happening.

"Forgive me, Alpha, I wouldn't dare challenge you, you're my Alpha but look around you. Did you see anyone walking around freely, the cloud is dark, the forest, this is all your doing, Alpha, this is why your calming potion was more than its usual dosage, the Elders are afraid you will burn the entire Pack down taking us all with you. This is why we are worried, why we are afraid." Dom said quietly. He watched as his Alpha dropped to the floor, sitting cross-legged on the ground holding his head in his hands. The room grew quiet once more, Dom and Colleen's shoulders drooping as they silently prayed for their Alpha to snap out of this trance. They had never seen him like this before, even in the deepest darkest periods of their pack's history, Conri had remained aloof, indifferent even. Their Alpha always seemed to know exactly what to say or how to handle everything. Now, they didn't know how to react to the broken and vulnerable man before them.
