Backstory: Kat is the younger Irish twin sister of Keith. Krolia became pregnant with her but she had to leave Earth before she could give birth, so Kat's parents made a plan. When Krolia gave birth, she hid Kat and gave her to a trusted friend among the Blade to return Kat to Earth. Kat grew up with her father and her older brother. They typically stayed away from society, usually making it just the three of them.
They lived poorly but they were happy, until when Kat was at about the age of ten when her father tragically passed away in a fire. From then on it was just Kieth and Kat. They were put in home to home, but were kicked out for some reason or another. One day at school, Shiro showed up to their school and showed high interest in Kieth's skills in the game simulator. Kat refused to play, ignoring Griffon's taunts. Together the siblings stole galaxy vehicle and winded up in Juvenal hall and Shiro bailing them both out. Shiro then makes Kat do the game simulation to see her skill at it as well, seeing that her skills almost if not matched that of her brothers.
Shiro then gets the two enrolled in the Galaxy Garrison, they were immediate placed into fighter class, and were happy. They were worried when they found out about Shiro's illness, but were supportive when he went up for the mission. When it was said for the Curburos team to have perished Keith flunked out not long after. Kat, however, stayed in a bit longer starting a relationship with Griffon, but eventually was flunked out as well.
After meeting up with her brother, she helped him with his search in the strange readings that he found. They began doing research and around five months later Shiro's ship crashed. Not knowing what they would find, Keith and Kat went and broke out Shiro, with the help of some unwanted guests. Eventually becoming Team Voltron.

Future/Post Season 8:
She becomes ambassador on New Altea and one of the few Galrin Leaders. She helped her older brother change the blade to humanitarian organization. But spends as much time as she can with her loved ones.
Other:
She joined the Blade of Momora at the same time as Kieth but she continued to be a Paladin, but only took to Blade missions if it was imperative for her to be there. (This includes the one mission that she meets her mother.) Krolia duo wielded the swords that are now shared between Kieth and Kat.
