Ignoring Jack and Abi's voices as they called after her, Kayleigh followed after Rosemary, not wanting to leave her friend alone. They pushed down the steps and dove straight into the centre of the dancefloor where Rosemary snatched two drinks from a passing waiter's tray and offered one to Kayleigh. In the time it took Kayleigh to take a sip, Rosemary had downed hers.

"Rosemary, slow down or you won't have to pretend to be drunk tonight!" she yelled over the music in her friend's direction.

But Rosemary's eyes were fixed at a point above her head and nothing was going through. Kayleigh turned to see what she was looking at and her heart sank. The redhead and the blond each had a Gin and Tonic in their hand and they were clinging onto Leon like a pair of leeches. The blond already had her hand around the back of his neck and the redhead was leaning against him, practically pushing her bosom in his face.

Kayleigh gulped as she scanned the balcony for Jack and Marcus impatiently, hoping one of them would have the sense to pull him away before he did anything stupid. But she could not find Jack anywhere and her stomach twisted further in knots when her eyes landed on Marcus. He and Abigail were very clearly in the middle of a heated argument, or at least he was. Abi's apprehensive eyes were darting left and right, flashing her usual smile whenever she caught some curious gaze, as Marcus's face grew redder, his jaw sterner and his eyes darker.

"Dance with me, Kayleigh!" Rosie demanded, taking Kay's glass and downing it too. Then, it slipped from her hand just as her jaw dropped. Kayleigh caught it just in time but then dropped it herself when she looked up at the balcony again. Her brother was making out with the redhead... Then the blond.

"Rosemary, we can leave anytime," Kay said ignoring the shattered glass at her feet and turning to her friend. But Rosemary shook her head wildly.

"No!" she replied, unable to hide the pain in her voice. "He can leave! We are dancing!"

Kayleigh gave her a doubtful look but Rosemary took her hand and turned her around as she firmly gave her back to the action-packed balcony. As soon as they started moving to the music, she felt a pair of hands wrap over her hips. Kay turned to tell whoever it was to get lost, not wanting another scene, but she was relieved to see it was only Jack.

"Can we talk?" he asked, but Kayleigh shook her head.

"Later. Rosie needs me."

Jack's eyes went to Rosemary, then to the balcony, and he nodded to show that he understood.

Minutes later, Abigail joined them on the dancefloor, looking just as drunk as Rosemary, if not more. She pushed Kayleigh playfully onto Jack, who instantly wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a deep kiss.

"Are you having fun?" she yelled in their direction.

Jack pulled away with an unamused expression and Kayleigh tried and failed to hold back a short laugh. "You're joking, right?"

"Relax, Baby," Jack murmured running his hands up Kay's arms. She turned so that her back was against his chest and her eyes were on Rosemary. She looked happy enough as she dirty danced with Abigail, but Kayleigh could still see the girl's hurt deep in her eyes.

Instinctively, Kay looked up towards their table which was now completely empty. She didn't need a vast imagination to guess where her brother went. But where the heck was Marcus?

She wondered if he took off after his argument with Abi, but he wouldn't just leave his fianceé at the club on her own, would he?

"Did I tell you, you look absolutely stunning tonight?" Jack murmured in Kay's ear before kissing her neck.
