EUNICE VERGARA

"Your dedication to this council is totally uncalled for. You should've just stayed home."

I grabbed the jacket from Teejay's hand and immediately wore it over me. The clouds are getting darker which explains the cold breeze of the wind. I just hope the rain will postpone its visit.

"It's just a headache." I told him while zipping up the jacket and placed both my hands inside its pockets.

"I don't think so. You look like you're about to pass out."

He pointed at me while posing the expression my father gave me early this morning.

"I'm fine. Stop overreacting. I'm stronger than I look."

He shook his head, clearly far from being convinced.

"You can go and proceed with your date now, sir." I even made a guiding position to tell him that his presence is no longer required at this very moment.

"I'll take you home first."

"No way in hell. I can manage."

He mumbled some words which I assumed were his little protest about my hard-headedness.

We argued for a couple more minutes, and I ended up pushing him outside the gate which was a struggle because he's built and it did not help that I only got half of my energy because I was not in my best condition.

He suggested that he should stay and help which I find utterly stupid.

I was quick to reject his offer, of course.

"Just go. And don't even think about coming back. Understood?" I threatened, but he doesn't seem fazed at all.

He stood still outside the gate, eyeing me seriously before he let out a deep sigh.

"Go." I waved him goodbye and he finally surrendered.

I only walked back to the office after I made sure that he already left.

That was tough. I find it way more difficult to handle Teejay than Dad.

These days, he's been annoyingly strict when I was way more mature than the two of us.

I sat beside Kenzy who I was working with for the bulletin board. The others were working on the panels for the activities.

We had our meeting this morning with our adviser for the sports event next month. Midterms just finished, and although I had slight expectations about this one, I never thought that I would literally have no days left to rest before another work begins.

I had spent the weekend at Teejay's because I could no longer postpone my promise to his mother to spend time with her at their house, but I did not imagine that I would be spending the night there, taking care of the puppies.

It was because two of Frankie's puppies got parvo. Teejay of course was busy taking care of those two which were isolated from Frankie, so I was left to take care of the remaining ones which were not infected.

It was a relief that he discovered it sooner and brought it to the vet.

Poor puppy.

"I remember him." Kenzy said out of nowhere while I was busy arranging the cut outs.

"Who?"

"The guy you met outside."

I was creasing my forehead at first because of confusion, but eventually realized that Kenzy met Teejay back when he asked her a favor just so he could take part in a game.
