TEEJAY

I spent half of the first day of my weekend making it up to Liana. A little frown on her face alerts me, that is why the date which I estimated to last for only three hours lasted for a couple more.

I have babies to attend to at home, but I'm scared to say no thinking she might get upset and be reminded of our recent argument.

Girls are really scary when displeased. And I don't want this whole plan to go to waste.

Arriving at home, I went directly to the kennel behind the house where I spotted my mother watering her beloved plants just beside it. I don't know why she chose that spot where Frankie runs around so much. She's the only one getting stressed out after finding her grown flowers out of their pots – weary and almost lifeless!

"Son! Look!" She enthusiastically called for me to show me her daisy. I lazily went to her side.

"Wow. It took you almost forever to grow a single flower." I commented. She raised the small pot and held it like a prized possession.

"I know! I wonder what kind of evil sabotages my garden every night! Gracious!" She dramatically stated.

Uhm- she had no idea that the evil she was pertaining to got pregnant and probably stopped running around for a couple of months then gave birth.

"How's Frankie?" I went to the kennel and found the dog nursing her puppies. I went to her so she did not need to stand up and cut her breastfeeding short.

I patted her head and she was closing her eyes every time feeling the warmth from my fingers. Her puppies are still less than a month old so their eyes are still close and all they do is crawl and yelp when hungry.

"Dude, you were overfed!" I told the puppy with the largest belly. I rubbed his tummy meal away from exploding.

"Let him drink his milk Teejay!" Mother scolded me.

"His stomach's gonna burst! Look!" She shook her head and retrieved the puppy from my hold. She placed it back and the greedy little one immediately sipped for another round of milking.

"Oh! I almost forgot! Eunice dropped by earlier!" She told me as she went out of the kennel carefully.

"Eunice? Why?" I inquired after following her outside.

"She visited me of course! And she volunteered to arrange and clean the interiors of the kennel. She's so sweet darling."

Oh. So she was the one who decorated the kennel like a fucking nursery school. The room had stickers all over the wall, and I bet they're all glow in the dark!

"Mom, you should've told her to not bother."

And what was she doing here when she was supposed to rest! That girl is so all over the place.

"I did son! I told her that we can manage, but she already had the materials."

Right. Talk about excited.

"She did a great job. You forgot to clean anyway, so it was a good thing. Look how lovely their home is!" Mom stared at the kennel with so much fascination on her eyes, while I, on the other hand looked utterly confused on what I missed half a day to arrive home with this setup.

"Yeah but mom, measuring a dog's height is not a normal practice among dog owners." I said and pointed the giraffe sticker on the right side next the door.

Eunice probably went to the infant accessories at the mall and bought anything she finds cute!

"What's wrong with it? It suits the place anyway. And stop complaining! She bought them for the dogs! Not for you so just zip your mouth okay?"
