TEEJAY
"Damn you! I told you to go easy on us!" Cody threw me a bottle of sports drinks which I caught using my left hand.
"That was the easiest I could offer. You just got weaker." I told him after twisting the bottle cap and saw him raise his middle finger towards me.
The other two followed us towards the bench and immediately got hold of their towels. I sat on the third row while catching my breath. I did not plan to join them but Wane bailed out on them and I was asked to replace him instead.
And damn I'm gonna smell on my freaking date!
I was busy trying to wipe the sweat on my neck when I saw Eunice on the stairs carrying a pile of Styrofoam. Her hair was in a messy bun and several strands were stuck on her neck because of sweat. She is still wearing her uniform skirt, but she changed into her white t-shirt.
She could've just worn jogging pants instead if she knew she would be doing hard labor today.
I smirked looking at her focused and serious expression trying to hide her very struggle.
A particular volleyball player came to her side and probably offered some help which she immediately declined. Only that one moment after, she found herself picking up the Styrofoam thrown away by the unfriendly wind and this time, the guy insisted to help. She gave him an awkward smile.
So much for being a self-reliant woman.
When they fully got up the stairs and disappeared probably towards the auditorium, I picked up my phone to message Liana. She was quick to reply.
"Someone's jealous." I raised my head towards Cody and he was looking towards Cedric who was sitting on the first row of the bench just below me. His tone got me confused.
"What?" Cody never tore his eyes off Cedric who did not seem intrigued by his allegations.
Boy! I was the one confused.
"Marky kinda told me that you're one of Eunice's secret admirer."
"Really?" Eric could not help but join the conversation, getting curious with Cedric's upcoming response.
I felt my phone vibrate and read Liana's message on my screen telling me she's on her way. The side of my lip rose.
"I'm not." Cedric effortlessly denied.
"But he saw you put the letter on her desk. Just admit it. We won't tell anyone. Right boys?" Cody tried to convince him and even included us in his persuasive dialog.
Eric nodded like a good dog though his face gave his intention away.
"Yeah. Eunice has plenty of secret admirers lining up. It won't be news to everyone if it includes you."
Eric got a point on that one. That woman is a walking attraction. But I never really imagined Cedric to be one of them, so I was a little shocked. I mean, he literally never showed interest on anyone. He was also popular with girls, but I never heard he dated any of them.
"I don't do love letters." He simply replied which lead to another annoying persuasive conversation from the two. They just won't stop until they get the answer that they want.
I believe Cedric though.
Another minute later, we saw Eunice going down the stairs and behind her was the volleyball player who assisted her earlier. Her cheeks were a little red. She easily gets flush whenever she's doing a lot of work. They shared a short talk before the guy went back to his spot with a smile plastered on his face.
