Bruce is new to a small town in North Denver. He sees a boy and knows he immediately needs to be his friend without knowing a thing about him. Vance's friend makes a bet with him to befriend the boy if he doesn't hear a single story within a week. Bruce never does. Vance befriends him, and his friend decides to add on to the bet. To get Bruce to fall in love with him.
Things all go downhill after Bruce's watches Vance fight and becomes terrified of him.
Even though they become friends again, it goes even more downhill as Bruce is told it was all just a bet.
