(WARNING! HOMOPHOBIA MENTIONING IN THIS CHAPTER!!)

It was a calm night in the museum. Well, most of the museum, anyway. It wasn't as quiet in the hall of miniatures. There was a lot of work going on in the western diorama.

"Phew!" Jedediah exclaimed, wiping his forehead. "Alrighty, y'all take a break from workin' on the tracks." he walked away. He then used his lasso/rope to get down his diorama. He sighed and walked to his car. "Hello, Jedediah!" a fancy voice called Jedediah's name from behind. Jedediah turned around to see Octavius smiling, walking over to him. "oh, shit..." he muttered. Jedediah always had feelings for Octavius. That's also sort of how their rivalry started. Jedediah didn't know how to express emotions, and it caused a big brawl-out between their civilians. He always thought about his feelings towards Octavius, though. "Would we work?" was the central question he had, alongside "what's wrong with me?", because his time didn't really appreciate people of 'his kind'.

"Hey, Ockie" Jedediah smiled, not knowing he was blushing. "Jed, are you alright?" Octavius asked, his smile turning into a worried frown. "What?" Jedediah asked, "Yeah, I'm fine! Why d'ya ask?" his blush left his face. "Oh, nothing to worry about. Your face just went red for no reason." Octavius said. Jedediah's eyes widened. "Hm. Weird." Jedediah cleared his throat, his head turning away from Octavius, pulling at his shirt collar.

"Jedediah, we need to talk." Octavius looked into Jedediah's cold blue eyes, which widened because of eye contact. Jedediah's face became a bright blush-red shade.

"Talk? Talk-Talk about what?" Jedediah asked, breaking a sweat on his forehead.

"Well, you're my best friend, Jedediah," Octavius started. Jedediah's heart broke when he heard the words 'best friend'.  "and honestly, I'm worrying about you." Octavius said. "Something's going on in your life that you're not telling me about." He put his left hand on Jed's right shoulder. Jed quickly became flustered and yanked Octavius's hand off of his shoulder out of reflex.

"I-I-I can't tell ya!" Jedediah turned around, putting his two hands on his head.

"Jedediah, you can tell me anything you'd like! We're best friends, Jed-"

"That's the thing!! Only you think we're best friends! I like you, okay?! I've always sorta liked ya ever since before I spoke a word to ya! But we can't even be a thing, it's- it's- it's just wrong! I-" Jedediah turned around blushing (yes, more than amity).

"Jedediah! Slow down!" Octavius exclaimed, grabbing onto Jedediah's forearms. He paused. "Wait, did you just say you like me??" "Yeah, you got me, alright? I like you. But it's- it's just- It's hard bein' a homosexual! Everyone's bein' all judgy in the wild west, and I don't got a clue what's goin' on in yer time" Jedediah's eyes started to water. "I just- I dunno, Ockie, it's- it's wrong! I've always been taught that it's wrong, I-" He looked down and sighed. "Am- Am I some sorta monster?!" he then started to a breakdown in disappointment. But not only that, there were a lot of other things, like anxiety from this, and how fast everything is happening, and (like I said) a ton of other things. His back arched, his body going into a ready stance.

"What? No! Jed, never call yourself that-" "I am though! God, there must be somethin' wrong with me! Oh, God!" Jedediah interrupted Octavius. Tear then started to run down his face. "Jed. Look at me." Octavius said, putting his head down and trying to make eye contact with Jedediah, who only partially lifted his head.

"There is nothing wrong with you. You are not a monster. There isn't anything wrong with you, there's something wrong with the way your period thought of sexual orientation. No matter what, I will always stay right beside you. As your ex-rival, best friend, and if you'll have me, your partner." Octavius sworn.

Jedediah's eyes widened, and his head lifted, his posture being fixed by this act. "You- You mean it, Kemosabe?" Jedediah asked. "Well, yes, I've been feeling the same for you too, and for quite a while now as well," Octavius confessed. "So." he cleared his throat out, "Will you- Would- ...Will you be my lover?" Jedediah's face became extremely hot and red. "I-I-I- uh-" Jedediah malfunctioned. "Uh-" "It's quite a simple question." Octavius smiled, chuckling at the red cowboy standing in front of him. "'Sorry, I just- wow! Would we work as a couple? Would we?" Jedediah asked, still in shock, "Uh- yes! I'd love to!" he smiled. He then wiped the tears off his face, Octavius letting go of his forearms. He then gave Octavius one last smile, before hugging him.

"God damn it, I love you, Ockie," Jedediah whispered, smiling while hugging Octavius tighter. "I love you too, Jed." Octavius smiled lightly while hugging Jedediah with the same amount of force Jed was using.
