Casey's POV
When I awoke my body felt heavy but well rested, I felt as if I could easily go back to sleep forever, but the sounds of nature insisted that I needed to wake up. 'Nature?' I suddenly bolted up into a straight sitting position remembering where I was. Sighing in relief after remembering I wasn't in some spaceship anymore. Things were still going to be hard though and I knew I couldn't just pretend this wasn't happening. This definitely wasn't Earth but it couldn't be all that different, I'd find a way to survive. As the groggy feeling of sleep wore off and aching replaced it, I gave a small frown wishing I could go back to sleep and ignore reality, but I knew that wasn't an option at the moment. Going back to sleep would just be giving up, my stomach growled in protest at the thought of me not searching for food. I had to find food and better shelter, but I wasn't sure where to start. Sure I'd seen TV shows where people survive in the woods with almost nothing, but that definitely wasn't the kind of person I ever was. I've never even been camping, let alone had to survive outside of a city. At least I'd already found a stream where I could get water, that's a start even if it's not much.
I swallowed dryly as the thought of water came into my mind, it definitely wouldn't hurt to visit the stream again. Washing my face could help me wake up too. With a groan I forced my aching body to stand and began heading to the stream, it only took a minute to find where I was going as I hadn't slept far. I was about to walk up to the stream when I froze, hearing strange sounds. It almost sounded like a foreign language but with hissing and clicks in between some of the words. My heart stopped as I realized what the sound might be coming from. My fears were confirmed as heavy footsteps began to get louder, I pressed my back against a tree trying to hold my breath. Only moments later two aliens passed me. They were the same type of aliens from yesterday, maybe even the exact two same aliens that were at the wreck.
'What if they are looking for me??'. I tried to calm my panicked thoughts as they walked past my hiding spot, if I stay still they probably wouldn't even notice that I was here. 'Or maybe staying still is a worse idea? If they really are looking for me they will see me if they look hard enough.' I gulped thinking through my options before deciding. 'If I can just slip away quietly behind their backs I can get away no problem, maybe they don't even care what I'm doing and are in the woods for something else.' I tried to think positive as I took my first step, after a few seconds things were seemingly going well and I was almost where I could just run until I heard a sickening crunch. I froze lifting my foot off of the broken branch below, mentally facepalming at my stupidity. 'Maybe the aliens didn't notice' I bit my lip slowly looking up only to see both towering aliens looking straight at me. "oh... shit"
The shock wore off quickly as I tried to bolt, only to be stopped a second later by something wrapping around my neck harshly pulling me back. I started to cough as I felt my feet leave the ground, the thing around my neck feeling tighter than before. I panicked, clawing at whatever was on my neck, only to realize it was the bigger alien's tail. I tried to scream as the reality of the Alien touching me crossed my mind, what if it was like a snake and wanted to choke me out then eat me? It's tail definitely looked like a reptilian, but definitely more like a dinosaur than a snake. I wasn't given much time to inspect many details about the monsters tail as I felt myself Losing air. My vision blurred as I weakly clawed at the thick tail covering my windpipe. Luckily I felt the tail release me a moment later, I greedily breathed in as much air as I could, not caring about my surroundings anymore. Only for something to quickly wrap around my head locking my jaw closed, I tried to scream, but my mouth had been completely restricted by the second alien's tail. Though it seemed smoother and thinner it also seemed more agile as it wrapped around every part of my body. Before I could even react properly all of my limbs were trapped as well, I was stuck looking upwards as my eyes met with the pale Aliens four opal eyes, having trouble figuring out which pair I was supposed to be looking at. I quickly recognized the Alien as the one who had freed me from the wreck, but I didn't want to test my luck with the Aliens again. I struggled for what seemed like half an hour but all I accomplished was making my body even more sore and tiring myself out. All the energy that I had gotten from resting was already spent on my failed escape attempts. I had only noticed the aliens were carrying me somewhere when they stopped walking. We were out of the woods and a strange box-like vehicle sat in the middle of what looked like a rural dirt path. It almost looked like a car, just… Messed up. I had almost no time to think as the Aliens grip on me changed and I was pinned on top of the vehicle, as large needle was held over me. I used the last of my energy as I tried to kick away again but it did nothing, I couldn't even plead as my mouth was still covered. Not like the aliens could understand me anyways, and there was no guarantee they would even care if they could understand me. My eyes widened as the thin tip of the needle was pushed into my wrist and popped through my vein. The blue liquid slowly drained from the syringe and into my veins as I watched helplessly. I wasn't sure if it was poison or what it was, but the stuff was already in me. A single tear slipped out of my eyes as I watched the syringe empty, feeling myself start to drift away. ''Is this what dying feels like?' Everything suddenly felt calm despite the situation, but I was barely able to form a thought before everything went black.
