[A/N] Sorry for the long wait since the last update, I've been caught up in college and other hobbies. I'll try to update more frequently since I'm almost done with my college classes.

Aonala's POV

I dug my hand into my purse looking for the key to unlock the main office. Finally I felt the cool metal between my fingers as I pulled a silver key out of my bag, immediately placing it into the lock.

With some effort I pushed the heavy metal door inwards and headed to my office. As I powered on the old computer the first thing I noticed was Kanis drafts. I sighed, unsurprised at how unprofessional they were before making a few edits to them. If she was here I would have hit her over the head, no matter what I've told her she doesn't seem to understand why you have to write a certain way, or be professional at work . Then again there is no changing Kani, and maybe that could also be a good thing.

After checking a few small things on the old computer, I made my way over to the room with the small aliens. Despite having a room with at least 18 cages, we never really had a reason to use them besides stray or lost venas we found outside. However everything was different today, we had completely alien creatures that we knew barely anything about. The thought was very exciting, but I also couldn't help but feel bad for the poor things. I'm sure they have no idea about whats happening or why those wretched Qlanoks took them in the first place. The door opened easily with a small creak as I pushed it forward with the end of my tail, my eyes quickly looking to the occupied cages.

The hooved creature appeared to be awake, but the other alien was still fast asleep. I couldn't help but worry slightly about if the sleeping creature would be okay or even wake up again. The crash had been a bad one and there was a reason only two things managed to survive. Everytime I looked back at the creature it was asleep again, maybe it had a concussion. The thing seemed like it was sleeping almost every time I checked on it. Maybe Kani had grabbed it too roughly the other day.

A small frown came onto my face as I continued in a steady pace, pushing any bad thoughts to the back of my mind. I stopped in the center of the room to reach for more aurea berries to feed the creatures, but stopped in my tracks as I heard the front door creak open. I stood up straight, turning around expecting Kani, but was surprised to instead see my coworker Nelkro. He still wasn't the funnest person in the world to speak to, but he was still a universe above my other coworker that has been gone recently.

"You finally get to do something cool And you get bit by a monkey from space, are you sure you need this job?"  Nelkro commented snidely as he began to head towards me. Though the comment was followed by a chuckle from him, I couldn't really find the humor in it. Then again nothing the man said was that funny to me. It took me a moment to gain my bearings before speaking, "I had to check if it was alive and pull it out of the wreck asshole, and what are you doing back from your trip so early? I thought you still had a week left". The man hummed, acknowledging my reply before choosing to answer my question.

"There have been several crashes like the one you and Kani dealt with the other day in multiple places over the past two weeks or so. Almost every ship was a Qlanok ship carrying contraband. So I'd say right now isn't exactly the best time for me to be on vacation. Besides, who would want to miss this shit? "

I nodded at his reply with a small hum before speaking. "yeah that makes sense… what kind of creatures were on the other ships?"

Nelkro stared off as if thinking before finally turning back to me, "A few endangered things such as Yeks and Conats, but mostly foreign or unknown creatures". I managed a curt nod as a reply before getting lost in my thoughts once more. I couldn't help the small grin that played on my lips as I thought about all the new creatures. I had always loved discovering new things and adventuring, though my size and weak scales never exactly got me a job off planet. Most other cenads were worried that I would be too frail or cause jobs to take longer. While they may not be wrong, it was still annoying. If my genetics didn't get me killed in space my curiosity might. So maybe an on planet job such as this was for the better, either way I couldn't hide my excitement about the new creatures. I may have gone my whole life never seeing or learning about them if me and Kani hadn't found the crashed ship just a day before.
