In the present...

"And so, there I was. 50 blood thirsty zombies out to kill. And me, cornered into a wall next to the Bang Boom Splat Arcade machine, armed with nothing but a single firearm."

Edd and Matt stare at Paul in awe, completely enveloped in his story. Tom doesn't seem all that interested in the story but listens regardless. Meanwhile Patryck was just simply gazing at his soldier buddy, chin resting on his hand, a small smile on his face and a look of longing in his eyes.

"I knew I wasn't escaping without a fight, so I began to shoot my weapon at those hideous monsters." Paul continues, pretending to hold an assault rifle in his hands. "I came close to getting bitten multiple times, but I kept my cool and utilized my skills to dodge each attempt."

"Woah!" Edd says.

"Amazing!" Matt adds.

"I was eventually cornered again, with no more ammo. But just my luck, Patryck over here finds me and takes out the last few zombies."

Patryck snaps out of his staring as Paul nudges his arm.

"Oh, right. It was no problem. Anything for...my friend."

He almost slips up and says 'fellow soldier', which might have given away their actual jobs if Edd and the others knew about the Red Army.

"Anyway, turns out one zombie was still alive. It grabbed me and pushed me to the ground. I couldn't move, and that's when it slashed my right eye with its claws." Paul continues, hovering a finger over the scar on his face.

Matt gasps in shock.

"Oh no! Were you killed?!"

"Unfortunately, yes." Paul sighs, clenching a fist dramatically. "But good news! I lived!"

Edd and Matt cheer while Tom seemingly rolls his 'eyes'.

"I quickly took care of the zombie and we both managed to escape the theme park, patching ourselves up along the way." Patryck finishes the story.

"It's a little difficult to see out this eye still, but I'm used to it by now." Paul shrugs, rubbing a thumb on the scar. "Still, at least I got a cool battle scar out of it."

They all begin chuckling softly. That's when Patryck pushes his plate aside and gets up from his seat.

"Well, it was fun meeting you three, but I think we best be off to our apartment and get to bed." He announces, heading to the door. "Don't want to overstay our welcome."

"Of course! It was lovely having some new company around." Edd smiles. "Don't be strangers by the way, you're welcome to come hang out with us any time!"

Edd and Matt wave goodbye to the duo with big grins while Tom just gives a nod of acknowledgement and a slight smile.

Paul closes the door, he and Patryck beginning the brief walk to their apartment and heading in.

"Well? What did I tell you P?" He grins while they enter their room, a bed on each side of the place.

"Okay, okay. I'll admit, they're nice people." Patryck says, slipping off his hoodie and jumper. "Just, remember the mission."

"Hey don't worry Pat. I won't forget." Paul reassures him, opening the window a little bit. "Say, you've looked tired all day by the way. You haven't been overworking yourself again have you?"

"No, of course. When have I ever done that?"

Paul thinks to himself, remembering a day.
