Shadow was walking down the hallway after class ended. It felt so long. Who in their right mind decided to force a bunch of college kids to sit down in a room for 3 hours straight for a test? It was idiotic in Shadow's opinion.

Someone came by him. It was, of course, Sonic with his usual smirk plastered over his face. The hedgehog had grown to adore the adorable smirk of his. Chuckling softly, he tilted his head at his blue counterpart.

"I don't suppose that the test tired out the fastest man on the track team back in high school."
"What?? Of course not, Shadz! I can go super at any time! My mind literally races at a thousand miles per second- I think that little brain of yours would have exploded if it was you in my position!"
He winked at the short hedgehog. Shadow rolled his eyes playfully.
"You focus more on getting through things faster than more efficiently. You're a smart hedgehog, Faker. But it's important that you slow down every once in a while. I don't want that brain of yours going so fast that it crashes."
Shadow spoke with concern.

A small hint of blush covered Sonic's cheeks and he nodded. His heart was beating fast because of the genuine words coming out of Shadow's mouth. It was something that Sonic very much admired him for. They both walked across the college campus in silence. Something was bothering Sonic greatly. It was a question he had always been too scared to ask. But he figured that it was either now or never.

"Hey, uh- Shadz!" He blurted out; Anxiety showing through small cracks in his voice.
"Yes?"
"I was wondering if you would ever want to go out? We've known each other since- When were you released from your pod thing?" He scratched the back of his neck.
"The junior year of high school. We met because I was trying to destroy the world."
"Uhh...Yeah! We've known each other since high school- Junior year of high school. And it's hit me that we've only ever hung out inside of school when we're not trying to kill each other. So maybe a nice walk in the city plaza around...Noon Tomorrow?"
Sonic blushed brightly. Shadow stayed quiet for a few seconds before nodding his head.

"Are you asking me out on a date, Sonic?"
He questioned. The blue hedgehog froze in confusion and he nodded quickly.
"Uh- Sure!! If that's what you want to call it- Yeah! A date with Sonic and Shadow the Hedgehog!"
He beamed with a bright smile. Shadow looked up and saw how it was getting dark.

"Consider it a date."
He kissed Sonic on the lips. Sonic purred into the kiss and tilted their heads to deepen it. When they pulled away, it seemed as though fireworks were blowing up in Sonic's heart.
"Would you like to walk me to my dorm?"
Shadow asked calmly. The taller hedgehog nodded his head slowly like a drunk man; Jaw practically hitting the ground from how shocked he was to have been kissed by none other than Shadow the hedgehog.

Sonic wasn't going to be rude now! He couldn't let a pretty guy walk all alone in the dark. When he got Shadow to his room, he gave him one last hug. They both said their good nights and Sonic went his separate way.

Shadow was up all night thinking about what they could do tomorrow. He wasn't that irresponsible and fell asleep at a responsible time, unlike most of the humans reading this story right now.

In the morning, Shadow jumped out of bed thanks to his 10 am alarm clock and looked around his closet to look for something nice to wear for Sonic.
"Too emo. Too much like Maria. Why do you even have this, Shadow? That was a gift...Perfect!"
He beamed after going through so many outfits. Shadow had taken out a white shirt and a baby blue skirt, and long with a very small bag that wrapped around his chest. While it couldn't hold more than a few dollars, it looked cute and that's what mattered to him. He quickly got the clothing on and looked at himself in the mirror. It took him longer to fix up his quills and put on makeup than it did to pick out his outfit. He stared at himself in his restroom body mirror for a while before nodding his head in approval.
