Jake Pov:

Life has just been boring lately, and it's been hard to do my daily duties as Toruk Macto without anybody to help me. I knew being in charge would leave me lonely to a certain extent but I would've never imagined all of this. It's hard to see my brother happy with Neytiri when I've been lonely for years. I have thought about different ways to find someone but everything Tom suggests just cringes me out.

"Are you seriously sulking again," Tom says, barging in and disrupting my nap, the seventh day in a row.

"Tom, some of us actually don't have much to be happy about lately," I snapped at him and he laughed in my face.

"Guess what?" He asked me with an excited face. Usually, the good news for him was another baby or his favorite dinner was tonight. Based on the smile he was wearing I think I'm wager the latter.

"Oh no, is she really pregnant again?" I asked, and he gave me an excited nod.

"What else do you guys do except procreate," I was laughing with him now but in a certain light, it was a serious question. They already had four kids, but I guess at that point no harm in making it five. Tom then came over to sit with me as my laughter subsided and sadness began to crush me again. He placed a hand on my shoulder and gave me a uniquely Tom side hug.

"I know it's hard," he kneaded my shoulder in sympathy as he sat up and encouraged me to follow suit, "There is a woman out there for you, I promise."

He gave me a small smile as he patted me on the back a couple of times. "Well on that note, I have to get back to her. You know how she gets," he says and gives me a defeated shrug.

"Yeah, get outta here, you have a happily ever after to skip into," I mimicked him in slow motion running into the sunset with his wife and five kids.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah," He threw up a hand in my face and then laughed his way out. I laughed a bit longer. I let out a sigh before climbing back into my hammock and staring at the ceiling, there had to be a better way to find a mate.

Your POV:

"Happy birthday!" Everyone screamed at me in unison as a blindfold was pulled off my head and I looked around in shock. Almost everyone in the village was here to surprise me with a party and I was overjoyed.

"Happy 24th little sis!" Neytiri gave me a hug as she wished me a happy birthday and I squeezed her, not too hard though since she was carrying baby number five.

"Did you do all of this for me?" I asked in shock, not that I'm surprised she would do it. She had always done something special for my birthday. I was surprised she still had the time with 4 kids, a husband, and another little bundle on the way.

"Of course I did! I'll always have time for you," She gave my shoulder a little squeeze as she looked around at all the guests, "Where is he when I need him?" She asked, clearly exhausted and wanting to find Tom.

I started scanning the party to try and find Tom, and then he came out of the clearing, "There he is!" I pointed at him as he gave me a smile and embraced my older sister, they shared a quick kiss as he pulled his attention back to me.

"Happy Birthday!" He gave me a little squeeze as I wished him, thank you before his attention returned to Neytiri.

"I'm sorry babe, I was held up with Jake, you know how he gets," He was rubbing her back lovingly as she nodded in agreement with him.

Jake was an enigma, I had never really seen him at gatherings even as he was Toruk Makto. He had a rough exterior, and I had never even seen him smile but the one thing everyone did notice was how hot he was. Wow. The man was astonishing, broad shoulders, tall, lean but still strong, and his hair was always immaculate regardless of what activity he had done throughout the day. He was adorned in a leather cuff that wrapped around his torso as well as knife holders and beaded jewelry wrapped around his muscles that drew attention to his physique. I didn't have a lot to say about him except that he scared me.
