Your POV:

It had been a crazy couple of months, as I began to feel the pressure that came with being next in line as Tsaheik. The only thing to distract me was the awkward tension between Tsu'tey, Jake and I. Jake was the mysterious sky person who had somehow made his way into the clan with the help of my little sister, whereas Tsu'tey was my promised mate since birth. Needless to say, the two did not get along.

There was something undeniable about the chemistry I had with Jake, he made me question things about the world and challenged my beliefs. Tsu'tey was different, he would always be good for me no matter what and people could see that. Jake was either the worst thing for me or the best, making it an impossible choice between the two.

They never failed to remind me of what I was doing to the both of them, and guilt consumed me each time because I knew if I was to choose one I'd lose the other. I'm just not at a point where I can lose anyone else but it eats me alive at the same time.

Tsu'tey has become desperate lately, taking every opportunity to flex his muscles in front of me or do something heroic at just the right time, I mean how many kids really needed to be saved from drowning. Jake has taken the full out different approach, slow, needy, seduction making it impossible for me to focus on anything besides his body. He would trace his fingers across my waist while I was training and dip his head in my neck to talk to me, all of the things that make a woman yearn for more.

It was finally dinner time and after a long day it felt nice to rest against home tree, until I was bombarded by Tsu'tey.

"Hey baby," he said as he was panting and out of breath before collapsing next to me.

*Baby?* I thought, why would he call me that, he never has before but it wasn't worth the fight so I just kept it to myself.

"Hey," I said while stuffing my mouth with fruit and adjusting my back so he could rest next to me.

"Sorry I'm so sweaty, hunting day was not a success," he was still panting and out of breath next to me as my eyes began to wander across his body admiring the way his skin glowed with sweat. Something so primal arose in me watching the way he strained for breath and how his abs looked like they were catching up with his heartbeat. Heat rushed to my face as I imagined all the ways to kiss him before shaking my head and directing my attention back to the fruit in my hands. I took another bite.

"Don't be," I told him, I raised my hand over my mouth so he didn't have to see the chewed up fruit.

He shifted up and propped himself more upright against the tree before turning to look at me, "I missed you today," he said.

I looked over at him still chewing up my last bite, "I missed you too." I gave him a small smile and touched his cheek lightly, before I could pull away he placed his hand over mine and smiled back at me. Tsu'tey was always so loving and warm but it just didn't feel full. He was still holding my hand against his when I heard crunching of leaves and fast footsteps approaching. Tsu'tey's attention turned toward the noise and his eyes narrowed in disgust, meaning Jake was most certainly behind me. He pushed himself up off the tree standing tall above me just as Jake arrived next to us, he gave me a smirk before turning his attention towards Tsu'tey.

It turned into a stare down as Jake flashed him a cocky smile, and Tsu'tey responded with a snarl which only made Jake laugh, "What's wrong?" Jake asked, "Worried I'll steal your girl?" he was still giving Tsu'tey a cocky grin.

Tsu'tey shrugged and scoffed at Jake, "I dare you," Tsu'tey said and moved closer to Jake.

"Nah, she can make her own choices," he nodded towards me as I dropped my fruit to the side and stood up slowly. "You on the other hand," he returned his attention back to Tsu'tey, "I'll take you down on my worst day." The cockiness dropped from Jake's mouth as he snarled back at Tsu'tey.
