Only 30 minutes before I needed to be at the museum. I checked myself over in the mirror one more time. I wore a white, silk, spaghetti strapped gown, with a heart neckline, and a thigh slit.
My thigh, extremely visible, had a silver band clasped around it. I wore my hair up and allowed for a few strands to fall and burgundy lipstick. Nami painted my toes and fingernails black, it complimented my caramel skin.
She had helped me get on my crystal-red bottom Louis Vuitton heels and my sterling silver wristwatch.
I turned around and saw how the dress complimented my entire figure.
"Ready to go?"
I looked toward my door and grinned at my best friend. She wore a white cocktail dress, a small slit where her bosoms sat and sleeves that hung off her biceps. It hugged her body just as well, and her gold accessory's with her long black hair pulled the fit together.
"Come on, you can't be late for you own showing." She rushed
I smiled and nodded my head, "Let's go."
. . .
As we entered the museum we were floored but how beautiful it had become. Beautiful white tinkling lights trickled down from the ceiling. All of the big pieces I had seen before were moved to create room.
Namjoon and I may have stood on weird ground because of how I treated his brother all those years ago...but this showcased why he was director. Dude was damn good as his job.
Suddenly the light music stopped and someone tapping on a glass could be heard.
"Attention!" He chuckled, "As always, it's a pleasure to have you back for another year. Today is a day we appreciate art in all forms. We chose white to signify the inner soul. These pieces are pieces we chose because within them you can truly see what each artist was feeling...their souls quite seemingly being left behind in their work."
Everyone listened attentively to Namjoon speak, he was really good at capturing a crowd.
"With that being said, please enjoy yourselves. Bidding booklets are at each painting and we will collect the boxes an hour before showtime, at which we will announce who is going home with their new art. Have a great time everyone." He ended his speak with a big smile, his dimples becoming prominent before he twirled his finger, causing the band to begin again.
"I'm gonna go socialize! Try to enjoy yourself?" Nami said
I smiled and ushered her away before I picked up a glass of champagne from a nearby waiter. I decided walking around and seeing some of the other work would be much more fun than just standing around.
There was clearly a disconnect between me and the others. These painting were on par with the greats and here I was, an amateur. One painting in particular had grabbed the attention of many, I traveled over to see what the fuss was about.
As I finally got the front I saw a garden, beautiful. The colors blended perfectly. The flowers looked so really that I thought if I touched them I'd actually feel them, smell them even. But in the center was a woman who sat in the middle of a darkened pond and surrounding her were small words withering away.
From my position I could only see a few words; ambitions, love, hope, apologies.... It was a physical representation of depression.
I was floored. For someone to reach so deep and here I had only done so little compared to this. I downed the rest of champagne before walking away to grab another glass.
As I spotted a waiter, I quickly placed my empty glass down and grabbed a new one. I glanced around the area, trying to spot Nami when instead I spotted a tall male, tattoos was I was all too familiar with slightly covered by the rolled sleeves of his white button up.
