Six months had passed after the events of the art show. I finally received my cut from my piece about a week after it sold. I was able to take home an unbelievable $320,660. I used the money to buy a new apartment and a new car. That didn't take much from my stash. And with everything else I did, I still had well over $230,000 left. Nami and Wyatt had hit it off that night. I tried to give her a cut from my money but she refused me, saying she was thankful and that I could never do anything better than give her Wyatt.

I chuckled at the thought.

I sat in my painting room, enjoying the natural lighting, the comfort of painting, and my last few moments of solitude before Rei arrived.

The buzzer to my apartment range obnoxiously. I placed my brushes down and rushed stood from my stool, exiting the door and jogging downstairs. As I reached the first floor, I picked up a remote on a small table beside my staircase. I pressed a button on the remote and the blinds all began to rise, allowing sunlight inside.

I placed the remote back down and continued my walk to the door that continued to loudly buzz.

I clicked the responder, "YAH!" I shouted, "Get off the damn buzzer!"

Rei and Nami laughed before opening the door and heading into the apartment complex.

A few minutes later I heard a knock at my door. I stood and slid my feet into my slides before making my way to the door. I opened it and welcomed my sibling in a tight hug that he reciprocated.

When we released he smiled at me and walked further into the apartment, taking off his shoes and sliding on some slippers. Nami followed in after kissing my cheeks.

I closed the door and watched as the two most important people in my life lounged on my couch in front of my windows.

"Where's the tv?" Rei asked

"Ooh! Watch this!" Nami chirped as she grabbed the remote and pressed a button. Within a moment the tv rose from the ground just in front of the windows.

"No fucking way!" Rei said excitedly, "Please be a painter forever if it means we get to live like this."

I chuckled at my brother before coming to sit beside him, "So what's going on?"

"Wyatt has been on vacation, he comes home tonight so I've pretty much double-checked everything at the apartment since I'm going to stay at his place for a few nights."

Rei rolled his eyes, "If you're going to do all that, why not just move in?" He asked

"Because I like my alone time." She smiled brightly, "That's why I didn't accept your sister's offer to buy me a new place, bigger and closer to her. I like my place and I'm always at Wyatt's so it doesn't matter."

Rei only shook his head slowly while looking at the tv.

"You?" I asked him

"Oh...well you know, officially graduated college so gonna bum off my sister until I find a job and make a way for myself."

"Sounds like a good show," Nami mocked

"Yes, jolly good show." Rei continued

I chuckled as Nami and Rei practiced their English accents.

"What's been going on with you?" Nami asked as she and Rei sat readied for my answer,

"Um...um been selling paintings left and right. Being in that art show helped me gain a lot of coverage. I'm excited for the future things I'll be working on."

They smiled happily as I talked, I understood why, I hadn't been content in a long time. But it's true...only people with money believe that money doesn't buy happiness. Entering that art show...getting that money-helped launch me into financial freedom. No debt, a nice home, a new car, and food in my belly? This couldn't get any better.
