Her clunker of a car did in fact make it all three hundred and seventy five miles to Hawkins with minimal issues. Priscilla silently thanked the higher beings of the universe for getting her here in one piece. Her heart fluttered as she passed by the 'Welcome to Hawkins' sign. Finally. She made it.
Robin was standing out on the front deck, waiting for her with a huge grin on her face. "'Scilla!" Robin exclaimed, waving her arms around in the air before jumping off the deck, skipping all the steps, and running with full force right towards her best friend.
Priscilla laughed as Robin tackled her, almost knocking her back into the car. "How did you know I was almost here?" She asked, stifling a laugh and tightening her grip on Robin. Nothing felt better than a hug from her best friend. She had missed moments like this.
Robin let go of Priscilla and stepped back, resting her hands on her hips and raising one eyebrow at her. "Seriously? I could hear you coming from a mile away. You really need to get that exhaust looked at." Robin scolded.
Priscilla knew her car sounded awful and it was about time she stopped ignoring it and started doing something about it, but she knew she didn't have the funds right now to fix it and it was going to be expensive. "It's better to just ignore it." Priscilla stated. "It sounds expensive and I'd rather not think about that." She let out a small chuckle.
"You know, Eddie works as a mechanic. Maybe he could take a look at it for you and tell you exactly what is wrong with it." Robin suggested.
"Really?" Priscilla felt relief wash over her. Coming home really was turning out to be the best decision she had ever made. "That would be amazing."
"But," Robin continued. There always was a 'but'. "Eddie may or may not have seen that polaroid I have of us on my wall and he may or may not now be totally obsessed with you. He even said he'd drop his side chicks for you." Robin said jokingly. "And as a guy who plays guitar, he has a lot of them."
"Oh, wow," said Priscilla sarcastically, bringing her hand up to her heart, "For me? I'm just so lucky." She laughed. "He can be obsessed with me all he wants, but it'll never happen." Priscilla flipped her long, black hair over her shoulder as she leaned into the backseat of her car to start grabbing her bags.
"What makes you say that?" Robin inquired, reaching in to help her grab a couple bags. "Still got the hots for Stevie?" She nudged Priscilla with her elbow, wiggling her eyebrows up and down suggestively.
"No..." Priscilla lied. She felt her cheeks begin to flush hot and red. She could say she didn't like Steve all she wanted, but her body's reaction would betray her each time. "Besides, Eddie? Not exactly my type."
Robin snorted. "'Nerds aren't her type', says the girl whose best friend is a nerdy band geek."
"You're not a nerd, Robin." Priscilla insisted.
The two of them took several trips to and from Priscilla's car to get all of her belongings inside. They spent the constant back and forth catching up on all the time they had missed. That was what Priscilla loved about Robin; despite the fact that they talked nearly every day, there was always something more to talk about. There was never a dull moment between the two of them.
As Robin dropped the last bag onto the floor of Lauren's old room, Priscilla jumped up onto the bed, bouncing a couple times and then motioning to Robin to join her. She already felt settled in. Being back in Robin's house and in Lauren's room brought back a lot of memories. Priscilla's eyes scanned the walls, still covered in various posters of popular movies and pop artists. It was as if Lauren's room was stuck in time; back to the time when she was still here. Priscilla's gaze settled on the discolored spot on the wall where she remembers Robin's head going right through. Lauren and Robin had got into an argument one day. Lauren pushed Robin a little harder than she thought and sent Robin tumbling backwards, sending her head right through the drywall and into the vacant, hollow space behind it. Robin had been okay, just a few scratches here and there, but Priscilla could still hear Robin's dad bellowing at Lauren for not only hurting her sister, but also ruining his wall.
