**Short Chapter**

Newt- I watched the poor girl as she winced in pain from the slightest movement. She looks bloody miserable; I thought. "You can rest if you want, or we can talk," I said to her. She looked at me sideways but shrugged. "Well, do you remember anything? Where you're from, how you got those injuries?" "Or why you came to us passed out and tied up?" I tried not to sound overbearing, but Alby usually questions the newbies, and this was a very different situation.

The girl shook her head, which tousled her curls about, and I couldn't help but smile; she is pretty. "Do you know your name? It's fine if you don't, happens to us all." She looked at me, paused, then nodded. This surprised me; it usually takes a day or two for us to remember our names, but this is good news either way. "Well?" I asked, tilting my head to the side, smiling at her. She said nothing, just tightened her arms around her body, shielding herself. "Don't trust me, love?" She smirked slightly and said, "I don't trust any of you."

"Fair, that. But we're big on trust here, so we'll have to work on that." She didn't respond. We sat in silence for a bit, and I used this time to really look at her. Despite her pain, obvious discomfort, and all, she glowed. Bright blonde curls that looked like gold. Strikingly blue eyes. Skin so tan she could have been touched by the sun. My eyes caught on her necklace, "That's pretty," I said, pointing. She looked at it, confused, so she probably had no recollection of it. Then she took it off, turned it in her hands, then handed it to me. Taking it, I noticed words printed on it, "To our Princess," I read aloud. I glanced up at her, she shrugged. "Huh, it suits you," I told her. "Looks like we found something to call you, love." This time when she smiled, it was big and bright, and I must be honest; she was bloody gorgeous when she did.

Gally- Sitting in the Builders hut, surrounded by blueprints, and building materials, was familiar. Building a hut for a girl, the only one that'd ever been here, was not. But I did as I was told; if Alby says she gets her own space, then so be it. "Not sure why she can't just sleep the same way we do. It'll take a while to build her a place," Dan said, looking at old blueprints we could use. "She could just sleep with one of us," Alec chimed across the room, smirking. A few of the guys laughed, but I frowned. "Hey, I don't want any of that talk going around! Alby will kill you and throw your body to the Grievers." Alec rolled his eyes at me. "First off; our rule is to never harm another Glader. Second, come on! You can't blame us, she's the only girl and she's hot!" I clenched my fist tight around the blueprint in my hand. He wasn't wrong, she is beautiful, and she looked good all in black... nope! I knew better, and Alby's threat rang loud in my brain. "Alec don't make me knock you out! I said I don't want to hear it!" Some of the guys looked at me, the others at Alec. Thankfully, he dropped it, and I got back to work.

"Come get it, ya'll!" Fry yelled from outside. We put our work down and left for the Homestead for dinner. While I stood in line with the others, I looked over at the Med-hut and saw Newt talking to Alby. Newt was gesturing inside, so I assume they're talking about the girl. Wonder if she'll be comfortable eating with us. Newt disappeared inside a moment, then walked out with the girl hanging off his shoulder. He was holding the crutches I had made for him, back when he broke his leg. Good thing the Med-jacks kept those; in case we needed them again. I watched as she said something to Alby, to which he nodded, and started walking over to us. "Fry, dish her up a bowl, she needs to eat something." Fry smiled and did as Alby said. "She eating with us?" I asked. He shook his head. "Girl doesn't even trust us enough to give us her name, she doesn't want to be near us." "She knows her name already?" Minho asked, passing a bowl of soup with bread to Alby.

"So, what are we supposed to call the Greenie then?" Ben spoke up. "Princess. It was Newt's idea. That's what her necklace says, "To our Princess." Figured why not." I chuckled softly, glancing over at her, trying to balance on the crutches. She let out a yelp of pain, then fell. Newt caught her and sat her down, speaking to her. She looked like she was holding back tears, then she caught me staring. She looked back at me for a moment, then smiled. Alby had walked over and handed Newt the food and a thermos. He went to pick her up, but she shrunk in on herself. I reached them before I even realized I moved. "Taking her back inside?" Newt looked at me, then nodded. I reached for her, without hesitation, and carried her inside, sitting her back on the bed. She smiled at me again when I let her go, and my face felt warm. I couldn't help but smile back. Newt cleared his throat and moved in front of me to give her the food. "You sure you don't want company?" he asked her. She looked up at him and cocked her head to the side as if to say, yes, shank, now beat it. Alby laughed and held up his hands, backing out of the room.

"See ya, Princess," Newt said, then followed Alby out. I lifted my hand goodbye then left too. "So, where's she supposed to sleep after she's recovered?" I asked Alby when I caught up to him. "I don't know yet. I guess I'll see if she's okay with sleeping outside, like some of us do. I'll worry about it when the time comes." Newt was looking at me oddly; like he was listening but didn't like what I had to say. I can't describe it. He walked away and got in line for food. Once he had it, he walked back over to the Med-hut, sat on the ground, and ate. "Guess he's taking over for you?" I asked. "Yeah, I'll go back over later to guard though." "That gonna be your job now? Or will you rope some of us into it?" I joked, taking food from Fry, and sitting at the table. "I made it clear that none of you shanks are going near her when she sleeps," Alby said, sitting across from me, glaring slightly. "Just a joke."

"Night everyone!" Newt yelled as we all got into our hammocks for bed. He was doing his rounds, checking on us all, but he was watching Alby speaking to the girl from outside the hut, then get comfortable in his sleeping bag. Newt sighed, looking concerned. "She'll be fine, man. If the girl can threaten us with a knife, no problem, she can survive sleeping alone," Minho told him, patting his shoulder. "Good that. Now, get to bed." Minho smiled and walked off. I was confused when Newt walked over to my area and took the empty hammock across from me and Alec. Ben usually sleeps there; guess they switched. He said nothing as he climbed in, just laid down, lost in thought. I turned over to get comfortable, and as I waited for sleep to come, the memory of the girl smiling at me, all bright and beautiful, stayed on my mind.
