Julia- "Things are changing; there's no denying that," Gally said, his voice firm. "First Ben gets stung in broad daylight, and then Alby." "And now our Greenie here has taken it upon himself to go into the Maze, which violates our rules." "Yeah, but he saved Alby's life," Frypan chimed in from behind Newt. Gally looked surprised. "Did he?" he asked. I looked over at him, shaking my head in disbelief. The shuck does that even mean? "For years, we've co-existed with these things, and now, you've killed one of them," Gally continued, turning around to point at Thomas. "Who knows what that could mean for us?" he asked. When Newt asked Gally what he thinks we should about it, Gally said Thomas needed to be punished, which caused immediate uproar. "Julia, what do you think, love?" Newt asked me. Everyone's eyes were on me now.

I sighed and sat up straight. "I'm pretty sure I made my opinion on all this perfectly clear the other day, so I'm just going to say what I want to say and be done with it." Newt nodded and told me to go ahead. "This idiot Greenie behind me risked his life to save two people he hardly knows, while we did nothing," Gally interrupted me, "Woah, babe," he started, but I flung my hand up, snapping my fingers sharply. "You shut up," I growled. "And not only did the Greenie live, but he killed a shucking Griever and brought back our leader and Minho!" I paused, glancing at the Keeper. "Which is shocking because Minho is useless," I teased, but my heart was only half in it. Some boys laughed, while he looked offended. "I'm kicking your ass when this is over," he snapped at me. I scoffed and turned away from him. "Look, the short version is this; Thomas deserves recognition for what he's done, but I do acknowledge he broke our rule. So, punish him, but nothing major. Maybe a day in the Pit or something, I don't care."

Gally was staring at me, dumbfounded. Newt thanked me and then addressed Minho for his opinion. His response was along the lines of my own, but then he said something stupid, and I almost got up to hit him for it. "Make him a Runner." Everyone except Chuck was not on board with that idea, especially Gally. He started yelling at everyone, but then he got cut off... by the sound of the Box alarm. He and I both looked at Newt, then we ran outside. The Box was coming up. Oh, come on! I cannot take anymore crap today! I inwardly whined. And then, as if the universe wanted to add onto my suffering, I looked into the Box and almost screamed. There was a girl. Why in the shucking hell is there a girl?! I was instantly on high alert. I looked at this girl with sharp eyes and a growl. She was unconscious, clutching something in her hand. Everyone had gathered around the Box, all looking as confused as Gally and Newt.

Newt jumped into the Box and opened her hand; it was a note, which he read out loud. "She's the last one. Ever." Suddenly, the girl was awake, breathing wildly. She looked around and then said something that some managed to make everything even worse; she recognized Thomas. And just like that, I felt a wave of instant distrust. I glared at him, and then Gally spoke, "Still think I'm overreacting?" he asked us. Thomas looked scared, and to be honest, I'm glad he did. He should be. The Med-jacks carried her into their Hut, Minho and Newt followed with Thomas, but I stayed outside with Gally and the others. "Oh, don't worry Julia; you're still the prettiest one here," Winston joked. I whipped around and snarled, and he backed away. "Sorry, not the right time," he said. I stomped off, climbing up the watchtower and pacing back and forth. Gally looked up at me from where he stood, but I didn't acknowledge him. I couldn't deal with him right now. I'm probably the only one who understands his opinions and the way he's acting, but he's being an ass about it.

After a few moments, I saw Thomas waltz out of the Med-hut, Minho running up behind him, stopping him in his tracks. They spoke for a moment, then glanced over at the other Runners, all of whom quitted this morning, and I was ticked about that too, then Minho walked off. Thomas stood for a bit before walking off, and I got suspicious. I climbed down and followed Minho, who was talking to Fry and some other Keepers. "Minho, what's going on?" I growled. They all jumped, wary of my bad mood. "Princess," Minho started, in an overly cherry voice. "Cut the crap, Min, answer me!" He looked like he'd rather be doing anything else but talking to me, but he sighed, doing as he was told. "We're going back into the Maze," he said quietly. All the rage inside me turned up into boiling and ready to explode. "We won't be long, I swear. We're going to check out the dead Griever and then come back," he rushed out.
