I sit on the towel and stare ahead at the majestic sunset sky and the ocean in its infinite glory. I dig my hands into the sand and watch as the tiny particls trickle their way down my hands decorated by a beautiful band on the fourth finger of my left hand. I sigh and inhale the fresh cool breeze.
My attention is shifted to my kids as their joy radiates throughout the air in the form of laughter. I watch as they play with each other and the sand as my heart leaps in content.
He makes his way to me and sits on the towel right beside me. My body becomes hyper aware of him but I don't fear it anymore as I lay my head onto his shoulder and watch the kids play around.
