Anne

Anne jumped up as the doorbell rang. She ran over and opened up to see Sasha, standing there with her helmet tucked under her arm. "Finally, took you long enough! It starts in 45 minutes!" Anne exclaimed.

"Anne, I had to get....never mind. Let's go." Sasha grumbled. "That's the spirit! I'll go get my bike." Anne grabbed it, clipped her helmet on, and sped off. "Anne! Wait up!" Sasha laughed. Anne glanced behind her to see Sasha moving closer and closer. Soon she was far ahead. "Slowpoke!" She called over her shoulder. Anne rolled her eyes, pedaled hard, and caught up.

"Looks like we're here." Anne said as they turned onto Marcy's street. They ditched their bikes and ran up to the door. Sasha reached for the doorbell, but Anne blocked her hand. "Can I? You know I really love buttons!" Sasha looked at her, confused, but obliged. Anne grinned as she pressed the doorbell.

"ONE MOMENT!"

Marcy's voice shouted from far away. Anne and Sasha waited a moment, but no footsteps were heard. "What is she doing?" Anne said. She dropped to the floor and snatched a key from under the doormat. She'd seen Marcy grabbing it the last time they had a sleepover. "We're heading in, Marcy!" She yelled through the door. Anne put the key through and Sasha followed her inside.

Anne led Sasha to the place Marcy spent what seemed like half her life in. The living room. Marcy was sprawled on the couch, a bag of chips on the floor and her game in her hands, right up to her face. "Marcy!" Anne smiled at her.

Marcy looked up, which is a rare thing when she's on her Nintendo. "Oh! Hi Anne, Sasha! There's this AWESOME NEW SEQUEL to Creatures and Caverns that I get to preview!!! Isn't this awesome!" She immediately went back to her game, and Anne barely stopped herself from rolling her eyes.

"But Marcy, we're going to the movies today! Remember?" Anne's voice was sugar-sweet. She hoped none of the annoyance showed through. "I'm sure you'll get to do this some other time. But Love Choice is a necessity!"

"It's just a weird pixel game, Marce. It doesn't matter!" Sasha grumbled. "We're leaving. End. Of. Discussion." Anne gave Sasha a sharp look, then took a deep breath and went back to Marcy. "Aw, c'mon Mar-Mar, are you sure you want to play on...that thing instead of watching Love Choice with us? I heard it's so good, it's even worth missing this special event thing or whatever. I know, I know, it's Critters and Canyons or whatever, but come on! It can't be that important. Now let's go!" She grabbed Marcy's hand and dragged her away from her gaming console. "We can get popcorn and tons of candy!"

Marcy smiled half-heartedly. Anne noticed her glancing back at the game several times while she was walking, which eventually caused her to trip on her shoelace. "I'm ok!" Marcy said, her voice muffled by the carpet. Anne tried not to laugh, but Sasha let it out. Anne frowned at her. "Sasha! Help Marcy up, stop laughing! It's not nice!"

Sasha stopped giggling and gave Anne a look she couldn't read, but helped Anne get Marcy back up and dust her off. "Alright, let's go!" Anne took them out the door, putting on her helmet as Marcy grabbed her bike. "Are you sure you won't fall this time?" Sasha said, eyeing the bike suspiciously. "Yeah, I got it!" Marcy smiled. "Just a little wobbly."

They all rode off and got to the theater, but the movie had already started. "Aw, come on!" Anne said. "Ugh, this is your fault, Marcy. If you hadn't been so obsessed with your game we would have made it!" Sasha scoffed. "Now we just have to get in there with no snacks or anything!" Marcy's grin faltered. "Sorry Sasha.." She apologized, clearly upset.

"Don't worry about it Mar-Mar! We'll get it next time when we see Love Choice 2! Only, like two years away!" Anne grinned at Marcy. "But that's when the new ga--" Marcy protested, but Sasha didn't let her finish. "Let's just get to the movie already! It's like, 5 minutes in!"
