Dallas shot up with hot tears streaming down his face. He was as pale as a ghost as he remembered the lifeless bodies of his friends.

"I need to make sure they're ok.." he thought, standing up quickly.

He practically dashed out to Darry's room. His door was already open. He looked in and saw his chest rising and falling. He looked over to see another body besides him. He couldn't tell who it was but it looked like they were cuddling.

"Whoever they are their both breathing." He thought turning on his heel, speed walking to the room Ponyboy and Soda share.

Their door was closed. He opened it and it made a loud creak. He visually cringed at the noise. He looked in but didn't see any movement.

His heart dropped and he crept in and took a closer look. He watched the blanket rise and fall, telling him they were breathing just fine. Relief washed over his face and he sighed.

"Dallas..? Why are you in here so late?" He heard a small croak from what sounded like Soda come from below him.

He looked down and mumbled that he had a nightmare.

"Glory, I'm sorry, Dal. Do ya want to talk about it?"

He nodded in response and Soda stood up lightly. They walked to the living room together and sat in the middle of the couch. He slightly sniffled, avoiding eye contact.

"One of the-sniff- socs that attacked me broke in and made me-sniff- watch him shOot the whole gang. T-then he shot me. I-I heard the craAcking of my skull! It felt so real.." Dallas said, letting his voice crack.

Soda was quick to wrap his arms around him the sadder male. "It's gonna be ok, it was just a dream. We're all alive. Even the kiddos you can't see."

He sniffled and whipped his tears. He stopped crying from Sodapop's kind words.

"Do you feel up to go back to bed?" Soda asked, breaking their embrace.

He nodded slowly, looking into Soda's eyes. Soda led him back to his old bedroom and watched him lay down under the covers.

"Goodnight, Dal. Sleep well." Soda said, glancing down at his arms but not saying anything.

"Night, Soda."

Dallas watched Soda leave and close the door softly. He sighed and looked at his alarm clock.

"2:48? Glory, Soda's never gonna wake up in time for work." He thought.

He turned on his side to face the wall and closed his eyes, letting sleep take over.
